  Grief and all that
Posted by: forrealone - 07-10-2019, 05:54 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (4)

Well, this Friday will mark five weeks since my beloved husband passed away.  It has been rough at times, I must admit.  Father blesses me SO!  I am suffering some from PTSD in that the "burnt into my brain image of his dear sweet face, marred by the gunshot, as I was instructed to and tried CPR" appears in my mind and it is at times difficult to shake off.  That is when it gets really hard.  Father holds me very tightly at those times even though at that moment I am lost in that image and cannot feel His Arms.  Fortunately it passes and the frequency is decreasing.

Prayers for strength and courage at this time would be so very much appreciated!

  Good Knee Gone Bad?
Posted by: Ed Hurst - 07-07-2019, 06:42 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (9)

The proper explanation requires some lengthy blather, but the short version is my left knee is giving me trouble.

People driven to exercise like I am seek to find the balance between too little and too much, between "that hurts" and "but it's so much fun!" I thought I was doing a really good job of that, because I was losing weight and having fun with the workouts, but was able to keep the pain at a bearable minimum. About ten days ago, my left knee started hurting just a little -- that's the good knee. I tried various forms of active recovery, even taking a rare dose of ibuprofen. I thought it was on the mend and hit a hard workout in the park. The next morning the pain was quite severe.

Go ahead and pray for my knee to recover, but that's not the whole story. It raises the question of whether I am required to shift to a much gentler workout. That's not as fun, and certainly not as effective in terms of the results I want. My resting heart-rate has been pushed down to 56 BPM, and my focus is on keeping that as healthy as possible. I'm not sure a gentler workout will work the same way.

So the real prayer request is for God's guidance in the broader sense of how to make the most of what's left for divine glory. I have this powerful sense I'm going to live a whole lot longer, and I don't want to be an invalid the whole time. I'd rather keel over in the midst of having fun.

  Solar Minimum
Posted by: jaybreak - 07-06-2019, 10:15 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (6)

The sun has been going kinda quiet lately, as predicted. There are practical, measurable effects with solar minimums and maximums, and those can cause chain reactions of other effects. The biggest one is probably the lesser protection from cosmic rays. But like the phases of the moon, solar activity might be something to keep in our awareness, individually, if we feel the pull to do so.

Quote:The Sun is so Blank, It Looks Like a Billiard Ball
JUNE 22, 2019 / DR.TONY PHILLIPS

June 21, 2019: The sun is blank–really blank. No sunspots have appeared for the past 34+ days, giving the sun the appearance of a giant orange billiard ball. This is a sign that Solar Minimum is underway. Earlier this year, a panel of experts from NOAA and NASA predicted that the solar cycle would reach its nadir sometime between July 2019 and Sept 2020. The current stretch of spotless suns is consistent with their forecast.

What happens when sunspots vanish? For one thing, solar flares stop happening. No big explosions means no shortwave radio blackouts and fewer geomagnetic storms. Also, the sun dims. Sunspots are sources of extreme ultraviolet radiation (EUV). Without sunspots, EUV levels decrease, causing Earth’s upper atmosphere to cool and contract. Satellites and space junk stay in orbit longer as aerodynamic drag subsides.

During this phase of the solar cycle, the solar wind slows and the sun’s magnetic field weakens–shields down! This allows extra cosmic rays from deep space to penetrate the solar system. Indeed, recent high altitude balloon flights show increased radiation in Earth’s atmosphere. Extra cosmic rays can trigger lightning, alter the electro-chemistry of the upper atmosphere, and boost dose rates on commercial airplane flights.

Solar Minimum won’t last forever. Forecasters expect sunspot numbers to increase after 2019-2020, climaxing in a new Solar Maximum around 2023-2026.  Meanwhile, stay tuned for more blank suns.

  PC point system
Posted by: IainH - 07-06-2019, 04:06 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (2)

Political Correctness in effect is the application of the critical theories of race, class and gender to all human interaction. There is a point system but, not all points are created equal.
Approved Race equals 1 point
Approved Class equals 1 point
Approved Sex equals 1 point
Approved Gender equals 1 point

Ones aggregate determines ones status within the system and is used in Government and Corporations with regard to hiring and promotion. There is the final point and it is actually worth either 1 or more. It is the defining point, it either adds 1 or it subtracts whatever the sum of the other points is, leaving 0. It can also add 4 to 0 or can have negative value depending on the general mood of the day.

This point is Politics. The god point.

If you are a poor, black, progressive woman you have 4 points. If you are a poor, female, progressive Asian transgender you have 5 points. There are a lot of combinations.
No matter what your points are, if you are not progressive you lose all your points. For example, a gay, Asian centrist has 0 points and can be assaulted by mask wearing rich, white kids. Without the god point, the assault on Andy Ngo would have created waves of outrage from the left. Which leads to the negative points which can be offset by the god point.

White Races equals -1
  Heterosexual equals -1
  Male Sex equals -1
Female Sex equals 0, which is really neutral but, I'm not taking it out. I don't do Reason.
  Religion equals  -1
Center to Right Politics equals -3.

Under this system, I have a score of -7. Which means my arrest after the Left gains full control. Again the god point trumps all. This system is pretty close to what is practiced in America today and it is based on ideology.
I don't have ideology, I reject the concept of ideology as something artificial and evil. Jesus did not teach ideology, no one in the Ancient world would have understood it. The tribal structure of the Bible is built on covenant. Life in a covenant society is based on associations and as such of obligations. Individual rights do not exist, the pursuit of individual happiness does not exist and the end of such is folly. I may extend this to another post. It touches on the mission that I'm being turned to. I haven't taken it out of the heart and given it substance in the material realm, it nonetheless exists. So, yeah..uh. I'm done. This started as satire and morphed. Whatever.

  Foot
Posted by: IainH - 07-06-2019, 02:35 PM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (8)

My left foot is swollen, tingly and I'm not able to be on my feet long before it gets downright painful. I'm wondering if it's gout. Bottom line, I've had to take the weekend off and am keeping it propped up. This is not good because I need to work. I'm drinking lots of water and avoiding "gout food". Hopefully, it will go down, this is the second time it's happened and the last time it had gone back to normal before I saw the Doctor so, I didn't get a yay or nay because it didn't show up on a blood test. It started this past week and has gotten progressively worse.
'Sigh'  I'm asking y'all to pray.

  Crossing Boundaries
Posted by: Ed Hurst - 07-03-2019, 11:56 AM - Forum: Praises - Replies (2)

I call this a praise because the Lord can do great things if we give Him room.

My rather potent sense of spiritual disturbance yesterday wasn't exactly what I first thought it might be. I was thinking we might be in for some persecution. While that will probably happen, but the pointers indicate something broader.

We know that the forces of disorder in the US didn't follow the rules in the first place. However, we could also predict with some accuracy just how far they might go before they backed off. There were limits. Not any more. What I was sensing was the Lord granting Satan permission to drive his servants across the previous boundaries. While it's still not exactly "anything goes," it is going to be uglier than it has been.

So for example, Antifa is now willing to commit murder. It might take them a few tries to work up to it, but they'll get started with it soon. This will naturally bring a backlash from their targets, who tend to be armed more often. That's just one example. Something keeps telling me that, much as I am mentally intrigued by some of the explanations and posturing from various political commentators, their noise won't matter any more. Whatever they were hoping to resolve is now pointless; the gloves are coming off. Nobody much is listening to them any more.

I was frankly inclined to keep this to myself, but it's agitating me too much. As usual, I hope I'm wrong about this, but this has been burning in my heart for a couple of days now. Get ready to see some miracles of the Lord taking care of His own in the midst of chaos. Hallelujah!

Weekly Wednesday Prayer + Fasting, 7/3/2019
Posted by: jaybreak - 07-03-2019, 05:29 AM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Happy July, everyone.

We are participating in our weekly corporate prayer time at 5pm EST. Check out the prayer request forum for some prayer topics, but feel free to lift up your own.

You may also fast. There's no obligation or guidelines to how you should do it, or if you should do it at all. Just fast as the Lord leads and speaks to your convictions.

"cabbage crates coming over the briney?"   "Sorry old chap we don't understand your banter" MPFC Season 4 Episode 3
God's Glory shines anyway all the time even when I want to slap the dash and cuss (I actually restrained myself)
Soooooooooooo...
The Honda took a waspy and Buttercup flipped over on her Betty Harper's.
Honda rabbits at 2700 rpm, I had scanned the trouble code and replaced the parts affected like, two months ago but, it still does it sporadically. The quick fix is pull over and turn off the ignition and start it up and it will run okay. It hadn't been doing it much until today. Pulled over twice on the way home from Boone. Not good Squiffy.
Before that I went out to the bank on my bike and when I stopped at the atm I saw a puddle under it, that wasn't oil, it was gas coming out the carburetor overflow so, I came home and drove the Honda and it did its thing. I'm gonna go take the fuel bowl off it may just be trash on the float needle, I hope. If it needs rebuilding a kit is $35.06 from J&P Cycle. I  don't mind, it's one of the joys of old bikes. I like working on pre computer controlled vehicles. A P1259 Variable Valve Timing code is no fun at all because, everything on modern vehicles is shoehorned into the engine compartment and that makes stuff hard to get to. I replaced the parts by using a mirror to see where the bolts were and then by feel, while my forearms were getting scratched by all the crap I had to snake through to reach the darn thing. Yeeeech! Don't get me started. Well, shut up. Good idey my friend.
By comparison, the space under the hood of my 78 Chevy truck is so big, I would set a 2by8 board across the fenders and lay on top of it, it made things so easy. The good news is I have to be at the country club at 2:30pm tomorrow yay work!

  Urgent not but,
Posted by: IainH - 06-26-2019, 11:54 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (4)

Hey you'ns, I hope y'all check this before 5pm. Pray for Aunt, her name is Annie she is 80 something now sure. She, no doubt under the influence of her nefarious brother defrauded God's law under the universal sin of lust for filthy lucre. She is suffering under God's justice. I forgive her because it's just money, a lot of money, enough to fund my children's college and law school for my daughter and still have change. Yeah.
It's a lot to process for a poor man.
My Aunt has Meniere's disease, God told me to ride down there and take it from her. I rejoice, healing is a gift that comes very rarely and I have to jump on it. It's tricky. I gotta have a pure heart ha ha ha, sad laugh. I'm a grevious sinner a prodigious sinner. It's the one thing I always outshone others in, or outdarked, I don't know. I'm gonna take a hunk of tortilla and some grape juice to cathedral before I go. The gift is God's so, the vessel is irrelevant. I go forth. Blessings.
