  Slouching towards Gamorrah
Posted by: IainH - 01-26-2019, 11:57 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (5)

Robert Bork wrote a book in 1996 titled Slouching towards Gamorrah. I always liked that title because it's a pretty good description of western decline and is the topic of the book. I'm sure I read it because I read lots of books like that in the 90's. My political orientation at that time was conservative. My political view nowadays is "a pox on both your houses" and I vote against the incumbent.
The west is in decline as a result of hubris, "we can build a better world" and, of course, these "smart people" will be in charge . Experiments like these only result in tyranny.
The west adopted secularism with human beings at the top, replacing God. It's been pointed out here before but, I shall reiterate there is nothing greater than man in western civilization. It's idolatry and there is no room for mysticism. Especially, Christian Mysticism. Evangelicals will never accept it and frankly I don't want them to because their version would be appalling so, I pray they stay out of it. I don't think we have cause to worry.
In a material sense Evangelicals are compromised by their devotion to the USofA and Republican Party in spite of their (Republicans) cynical veneer of religiosity. Republicans have never pushed hard to solve the issues that Evies care about because they need these issues as reasons for Evies to vote for them. Also in a spiritual sense Evangelicals are apostate; by their political activism, they have abandoned true faith for temporal gain and in so doing lead the slouch toward Gamorrah.
It should be obvious to anyone who has studied the US Constitution, that the USA has an entirely secular government.  Proclaiming "America is a Christian Nation" is idiocy. Any person believing that the First Amendment grants them religious freedom should look at how federal courts have tinkered with the "Free Exercise" clause, which in turn violates the "Establishment" clause. No one seems to have a problem with that. Since 1879 when, in a case against the LDS the SCOTUS unanimously ruled that Free Exercise did not include Religious Practice! Essentially, violating the Establishment clause. It had nothing to do with law or clarifying the First Amendment no no no. The purpose was to cement the notion that there is nothing higher than Man, including God which is superstition anyway. The US Constitution was and is the zenith of Enlightenment thinking. The framers were Atheists, Deists and nominal mainline Protestants. There is no real freedom of religion, never has been. If the government doesn't like your religion and your beliefs are anti-government, apocalyptic and involves firearms. The government will kill you or lock you up for a long time. The high profile takedowns like Ruby Ridge and Waco embarrassed the Feds so they changed tactics. Since 9/11 they have refined their methods. The government controls the message given to the media and go after any group they don't like and get away with it. The preferred way now is to access the targets computer and fill it with kiddie porn. Shazbot! Instant Pariah!
So what's to stop them from coming after us? Nothing but, right now we're a speck of dust on a dusty shelf. As we grow through future generations that will surely change. While the Evies continue slouching towards Gamorrah, we
walk upright in the footsteps of Christ towards Glory.

  The Best Revenge
Posted by: Ed Hurst - 01-25-2019, 06:12 PM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (2)

You may be aware of the harassment I took from "Zeno the Stoic." He ended up posting on his own blog about us being a dangerous cult. That's all fine and dandy; I didn't bother to read it. His thoughts are irrelevant. However, I am praying that the Lord notice and deal with the fellow as He sees fit. The best vengeance in this case would be for Zeno to repent and serve the Lord.

  He "can't live like this"
Posted by: forrealone - 01-22-2019, 11:18 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (7)

Disregarding the behavior, I truly need your prayers for my husband.  He has recently begun experiencing a new health challenge related to his ostomy last year.  I won't go into details; it would be too gross. The simplest way to put it is that he started having accidents.  Suffice it to say, it is terribly embarrassing for him.  He is starting to sleep most of the time.  All afternoon napping, up for supper, back to sleep off and on until early AM.  Then, a couple hours later, he is in his easy chair all bundled up and sleeping for a few more hours.

No doubt he is terribly discouraged and depressed about all of this.  He feels very ashamed.  He continuously says he can't "live like this".   I try very hard to encourage and lift him up.  He also talks about Jesus a lot.  He asks questions, which I readily answer with the Lord's help with explanations from the Word.

I ask that you pray for him.  I pray Father will instill in his heart some real faith and courage.  A new way for him to see his life without concentrating on all the negative aspects.  It is a very difficult road he is on.  I know.  I see it 24/7.  I take care of him every day.

Father is blessing me with much compassion and patience.  Other than the sadness, I am okay.........

  Super Blood Moon Photos
Posted by: jaybreak - 01-21-2019, 09:13 AM - Forum: Photos - Replies (8)

Questionable quality, of course.

The first is the super moon before the actual eclipse. The weather in Pittsburgh, besides being deathly cold, was ideal: clear skies except for a few small, low-hanging clouds that would add that wonderful atmospheric touch to the scene.

Second photo is a little after the eclipse first started, when the moon was pretty much 4-colored: bright white, gray, yellow, and red.

The night, eclipses, mysterious signs in the heavens, even 5 degree weather aren't evil. Nothing in creation is. Smile

  About that Gillette Commercial
Posted by: jaybreak - 01-19-2019, 04:03 PM - Forum: Sermons, Teachings, Blog Posts - Replies (2)

You may have seen, or read about, the new Gillette long-form commercial. Even without reading any commentary, most people can pick up that it relentlessly targets a very specific demographic. There are reasons for this, and the fact that the commercial has generated a big chunk controversy shouldn't be surprising. We shouldn't be so naive to think it's all a strange coincidence. Everything you see on television, from the script to the cast to the direction in general, is very deliberate--commercials, even more so.

It's a near certainty that Gillette, or Proctor & Gamble (Gillette's very large parent company) knew the kind of uproar it would cause. Currently P&G's stock is down, but that's the short play; corporations are rarely have such a high time-preference. Additionally, It's doubtless that P&G are in bed with globalists. You can't exist as such a large entity without establishing those ties, and while I don't know if there's a direct connection between the release of the commercial and the new APA guidelines for treating men and boys, the coincidence seems too well timed. I am, however, fine with leaving it as merely a coincidence.

While there's nothing exactly wrong with the behavioral corrections suggested by the commercial, there's nothing particularly moral about it, either. The context matters. Men shouldn't verbally harass women, but there was nothing indicating the man was going to harass her. Certainly, there's nothing wrong with a man "cold approaching" a woman as a courtship overture. To suggest otherwise would be lunacy. There's also nothing with wrong with stepping in to stop a violent encounter between two boys, but there's also nothing wrong with roughhousing, and I dare to say there's nothing wrong with letting two boys duke out a dispute.

It seems that, as the end result of a few decades of media influence, a demographic (the demographic targeted in Gillette's commercial) have developed a deep hatred for themselves. There's few other scenarios I can see in which this type of commercial would be acceptable to even a small portion of the population. At the root of this attitude is an approach to the sexes that would baffle the ancient Hebrew, and this. Men and women each have their own "peccadilloes" and consequent strengths, that the social demands of Western civilization, particularly feminism, managed to muddle quite well. Genuine glimpses of genuine masculinity or femininity are just that: glimpses. but anything genuine would most likely be not on accident. These days, it may pay to keep an attentive eye towards that.

  YAY! with a catch.
Posted by: IainH - 01-19-2019, 02:45 PM - Forum: Praises - Replies (3)

Glory be! We finally got my son's car back yesterday! Wonderful.
However on my way home, my ever faithful Honda would "jack rabbit" during acceleration from a stop. I'm pretty sure it's low on transmission fluid because a misfire is pretty much constant and when the torque converter locks up* it doesn't jump. I'm not always right in my swags, pray that I am right on this one because the solution is add trannie fluid.
* A torque converter is the connecting part between an engine and automatic transmission, it is a hydraulic connection. On modern cars it has a feature called lock up which is a mechanical connection in high gear. It provides better fuel economy because it eliminates the slip of a purely hydraulic connection.

  Silly Notions
Posted by: IainH - 01-18-2019, 04:15 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (6)

Literal interpreters of Scripture can come up some silly notions.
This comes from our former Pastor and used to make me cringe when he said it from the pulpit occasionally. I shall paraphrase
" If I knew how many people were alive when God sealed Noah and his family into the arc, I could tell you when the Lord will return because Jesus said "As it was in the days of Noah.... ".  Now, that's just plain nutty.
If you've got any silly stuff like the "Noah Equation" do share.

  I can't ride in snow.
Posted by: IainH - 01-12-2019, 10:19 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (5)

Hi Gang! Happy Sabbath and Lord's Day prep day! I'll let that sink in...
It's snowing a little which is no problem for our three 4wd/awd vehicles. The problem is one has been in the shop, leaving us with two and all four of us need to be doing different stuff. We need our Toyota back like, yesterday daddy.
Pray for that "sit yayshun" please.
As I set off to make disciples, I gotta get my own house in order. No major problem, I just need to do a "deuteronomy", a restatement of our covenant and what our Father expects plus, make clear the nature of and purpose of God's calling. Pray on this too, please. Don't delay.

  New old mission.
Posted by: IainH - 01-10-2019, 04:41 PM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (11)

In the previous set of posts under "Bananas" or as I like to quirk as " bah nah nah" try it & sling the syllable emphaseize  around you'll enjoy it. Things like that are for me like little bits of Edenic kid like joy.
Those posts chronicle what was the worst "educating" by fire I've experienced thus far. I pray necessary future chastising ain't as traumatic. It was Christ cleansing the temple. To be prepared for my next assignment, stuff had to be set straight.
My gratitude to y'all my covenant kin... Words would just flop. I send from my heart to yours love, peace and blessing. You will know it when you receive it. Again, there is no telling where I could have wound up without your concern and replies, some I didn't "get" right away but did later. Nuff sed.
Before I wrecked my shoulder, I was working as a dishwasher in local restaurants. I liked it because everything I'd done before was stressful, deadline type stuff.Being in close proximity to a college town, kitchens are staffed by students and the bohemian, hedonistic and pseudo-intellectual sorts common to these communities. Strangely enough, I prefer the company of these freaks to my "christian brethren" . I think they're more honest about what they are and don't hide it behind a veil of hypocrisy.
Amongst these folks, I found quite a few kids who were raised Evangelical, got to college and had their beliefs deconstructed. Most didn't really care. There were a few who were what I called "evangelically damaged goods" . At the time, I felt for them but, didn't have much to offer other than "yeah, you were fed a load of crap but Jesus is still Jesus" .
Now, I am better prepared and because I need work now. I'm taking what's available nownow; the high calling of Dishwasher Guru.
 Pray as the Spirit leads.
Specific prayer request. That the people working on my son's vehicle get it done. Apparently, the fellow assigned the task went for a 2 week Florida vacation, right as he started on Boymobile and just got back. So, I have had to ride everywhere until I get MY car back from my kid. Not that I mind but, five minutes in a store, I sweat then I hit the road.mmmm.....chilly. SO, it'll be Saturday before I can make the rounds, hand out my phone number with "when you're dishwasher lays out, call and I'll be there" .

  Evangelicals demise.
Posted by: IainH - 01-10-2019, 03:54 AM - Forum: Questions - Replies (8)

1st point. I've long since been thoroughly disgusted with Media Evangelicals. More recently, I find myself almost physically sickened in the presence of their delusional brethren in everyday life. There are a few I can still fellowship with because they have faith, even if they're wrong about how it was acquired. Evangelicals have "sold their souls" to two things utterly removed from Christ, that being the notion of America as chosen nation and politically to the Republican Party. If I'm right they are promoting the agenda of Satan, some I'm sure with full knowledge but, the vast majority of followers are merely useful idiots who simply believe whatever comes out of the mouth of a preacher because the man claims to be "called" but, actually it was a taste for fried chicken.
2nd point. As I observe them in action; particularly in their willingness to pass on Trump's amoral track record which would have disqualified him in prior elections and in their placing of politics before their declared morality. This should, at some point, result in their downfall. Comments? Mine: at the turn of the 20th Century the UK was a deeply religious country, today they are not. Politics replaced faith.
General bringer of great personal joy, A. I would love to see the MegaChurch emptied and turned into office space, shopping centers and theatres, oh wait, they already are, okay then, regular bidnesses for heathern's ah fudge! They're that too. Okay bulldozed, tore up and returned to productive farmland or parks.
Example of Gross Hypocrisy #'s 1 thru 10. Evies like to hang with other Evies and talk a LOT about what other people ought to be doing, gossip, bemoan the state of the country, etc...When the time comes to actually do something out come the wallets and the amount of one's $$$ donation = the gooder the deed done. A product of the "wealth=God's blessing" teaching or implied in the US chosen nation rot. When I read the Gospels and then observe these people, I find their actions more in line with the Scribes, Sadducees and Pharisees than with Jesus.
Yore thunks appreciate me much? "Are you on Dope?!" Yessir, I'm a dope but nosir I ain't not high, merely late night delirium.
I was once an arch conservative but, now I'm an AnarchoLudditeAgrarianMysticalAlchemicTribalist. ALAMAT mmm....
"ahlamaht" Nah too Arabic ....AlamAt nah.... I  hereby pronounce my politics as Slurb! Spelled alamat pronounced slurb in the Slorn language of the planet Glaxo in the SmithKline nebula.
I end with nuttery lest thou thinkest that I taketh myself too seriously.
I lied "I'm sorry but,,,,I'm not sorry" it's a given for us here that WC will cease to exist and neither the US or the unique Made in America brand of Christianity can continue in it's current form. It's entirely in the LORD'S hands. I still can't help but wonder. I'm bored, it's windy in the holler which makes our internet too spotty to watch stuff with my Amazon firetv stick. Hence the nonsense. One thunk left. A return to the Antebellum style of government, minus Slavery of course, when the States were still Sovereign and the Federal government role very small and limited. Now that would take more blood than the first War for Southern Independence (Civil War). It'd be easier just to have: A. The People's Republic of North Atlantic States, B. The Free Southern and Rust Belt Alliance, C. American Indian & Paleface Northern Plains Uneasy Non Aggression Co Prosperity Chunk, D. Texas (self explanatory), E. Democratic Republic of Southwest Mexifornia, F. Nevada Free State, G.Northwest Marijuana Co-Op, H. Greater British Columbia ( Canada gets Oregon and Washington). Good night yawn morning.
