I'm installing the part I got for my car today. May it the one I need, if it is well "jolly good, Chaps, tallyho!" Sorry I watched a doc on the Spitfire & Battle of Britain , "cabbage crates coming over the briney!" It would not be normal for me to have the less expensive component be the one, so I ask for a special dispensation in this case to spare my usual bad luck. $70 may not sound like much but, if you're income is $0 it might as well be one thousand $.
I need to car back to search for work, scuttlebutt is ASU is hiring. I'm required to apply there and if this part works, fantastic, I can make other people happy. ASU is a good job no doubt, they have a nice benefits package. I, being a mere man, do not see how working there would follow my calling. So, what is my calling?
I tell you a story; one night a 21 year old kid and his friends were partying, at one point this went and got his new .22 rifle to show his friends, as he was passing it to one of his friends the rifle accidentally discharged sending a round through his friends heart. He was convicted for involuntary manslaughter because of his ignorance of firearms, he removed the magazine but didn't know to check the chamber. I met him while working in a restaurant kitchen. He was a nice kid but, troubled. All I did was be his friend and help keep his truck on the road. I didn't try to evangelize him but, he knew I believed in Jesus. So I showed him God's love. I don't know exactly where he is now, his hometown is Raleigh, NC. Working in restaurants, I meet guys like him all the time. Twenty five is the age that a young guy who's partied since high school has a gut check. I did and went into a fundamentalist evangelical rehab. I learned some valuable lessons but, on the other hand it taught me the practice of self flagellation, which is no way to grow as a Christian.
Pray for a guy named Eli, that that the Father will give him to Jesus.
Pray for my car repair and,
The right job at the right place. Being driven out of a job by Spirit, Angels, Demons or whatever, is not a pleasant experience.
Pray for my wife who turns forty ten, commonly known as 50.TODAY. She don't like birthdays especially new decade ones, this is her third since we've been married. I'd like to do something to let here know that despite rockiness, I do appreciate her keeping me alive and she is a good Mom.
Blessings sent forth.....Now!

My car part is scheduled to arrive Tuesday and Wednesday Accuweather predictions a 59° high. Very Rare for February in these parts. So I'm grateful. Warning: the preceding was actual praise, the rest is welll not to put to fine a point on it.
Idiocy. You were warned!
Here's one to file under "I ain't believing this!" Saturday , nice weather around 50° partly sunny, perfect mc weather. I did my pre ride inspection everything looked good. I had softened my rear shocks and re-tensioned the chain on Friday. My plan was simple, ride around the back roads until I felt like going home. First stop, fill r up with Hi Test. I did and noticed way more than the normal drop or two of oil, that's Buttercup marking her territory, no this was a puddle. No ride go home find leak figger how to fix it. Oil pressure switch! The same part I'd ordered for my Honda. Is there a hidden link between my car and motorcycle? Both brand names begin with H ? Coincidence I DON'T THINK SO! This is obviously the work of THEY/THEM. I are sooo silly, there's no such thing as they/them. It's IT!!!! The oldest conspiracy of all IT precedes They/Them by oh at least the last five minutes of Your life that I've wasted. Heh heh heh (mustache twirling evil laff.)
I don't think this feller ought to be allowed to post such time wastin' junk. This is a serious forum ! SLAP! THUNK!
QUIET YOU! I DIDN'T GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO TYPE!
Seriously, I humbly SHUT UP! apologize for that. Sometimes, SOMEONE won't stay in HIS CAGE! JAB!! OW! That hurted! Yore mean. Y'AWNT S'MORE! I'll be quiet....mumblebumblegrumble crazy man...Creak(cage closes)
Whew, nah I really don't care for that dude, he's waaay too serious. One of these daze I'm gonna put a LOCK on his cage, instead of a latch. He has his uses:-
"You got me dead to rights Officer I did very briefly hit 50 in a 35 but, I hit the brakes as soon as I realized I was going a weeeee bit too fast.....I appreciate your understanding and think you fellers are doin' a fine job keepin' the drunks off the road". It works on cops and sometimes on the nazi-enforcer types. He's my inner Baptist. A relic from before it was revealed to me that I didn't have to go around with a broom handle up the wazoo, to be righteous, sanctified and holy.
Jesus was/is those things for me!
God said down wit yo weird self. He made me a misfit to mix with misfits. Jesus was a misfit and weird to those who did not get down with his rhythm.
ANYONE who tells you that you have to look, think and act a certain prescribed way to be a Christian, ain't one! And that's my whole fifty times 2¢. As a dollaraire I can do that. It wasn't such a waste of time now was it. Poof! Be Blessed those with eyes to read, read. I can't say ears because this stuff just kinda bounces around my inward parts like Pinball with three balls in play.

My wife has been diabetic for over 18 years, it began as gestational diabetes when she was prego with manboy but didn't become permanent until after sweetness and light was born. She doesn't take care of her condition like she should. Yesterday her blood sugar collapsed. She took a sick day and spent the day in bed. Watching someone with serious low blood sugar is like watching someone who is very drunk. Coordination is shot and speach is slurred. It was 4:00 am this morning before she got gooder. Sorrry about the preceding English language butchery but, I have to inject levity I'll 'splain later. Her A1C is always higher or whatever not really that great is. Joe Esposito, an army buddy of E!vis was asked many year after Elvis expired why they ( £!√/$ Memphis Mafia) did try to do something about Eze drug abuse. Joe answered "How do you save a grown man from himself" . That is where I'm at with my wife, she has to do it, I can't force her. Pray please. My kids will need their mother long after they're grown up.

A new video, that I believe has solid exposition. I have a slight issue with the "partnership" descriptor of the covenant relationship between God and the ancient Hebrews. Covenants aren't really partnerships, though that term is open ended. The two narrators describe the partnership accurately, however.

My Honda crv starts acting like a buckin' bronco at 2800rpm. OBD2 code P1259.
Translation: Honda VTec engine has variable valve timing. At 2800rpm it hydraulically switches to different timing to make more power at higher rpm. There are two parts that control it. When one of these components fail you get a P 1259 code A: Oil pressure switch, less than $6. And,
B: VVT Solenoid/Actuator $60.
Not knowing which will fix the problem, I ordered the cheaper part. I beseech thee Providence, Great Architect of the Universe who doth shine favor on America.... Oh enough Enlightenment twaddle. Jesus, my best friend who loves me you know how things are could you gimme a break and let the cheap part be the fix? If it ain't then I'm still scoring triple bogeys which is normal, so if my busted frozen knuckle blood is required that's cool too. If this existence was a zero sum game and all there was I'd be pissed because I'd be paying for some strangers charmed life. There is more and if there's blessings in the world to come commensurate to my daily bite, chew, swallow repeat crap sandwich, then I'm most fortunate indeed. So what, it will need the more expensive part, I can't prove it but, I know. So why bother asking for prayer. Well consider it as a little Cajun seasoning on my crap sandwich. I'm blessed to own a one acre sized workshop, the great outdoors. I'll gladly do it in the rain, snow and ice, but hold back the hurricane force winds when I fix it please.
I was thinking the other day when it bucked on me "Ah! Bleep! Blankity! Blarp! This NEVER happens in June or any warm month it's ALWAYS freakin' January when it's 5°!!!!!" True dat.

Deserted Evie Youth |

Evie is my abbreviation for an Evangelical christian, get used to it.
Because Western Christianity is based on reason, that same reason can be used to deconstruct it. This occurs regularly in institutions of higher learning. In my travels, I have encountered many a disillusioned Evie kid that, in spite of being raised Evangelical, now harbors doubts about their faith or, has given up on it altogether. I say, who can blame them. They were fed bullscat from childhood.
These 18-24+ year olds are my mission field, with an emphasis on shepherding young men. It is possible to work with young ladies but, it would be challenging because I make a point of never being alone with a female I'm not related to by blood or covenant and privacy is important when teaching. Pointing them towards our venerable lady bloggers would likely be the best thing I could do for them.
I've spoken with many a young dude who is troubled over their faith after having it dissected by cynical Academicians.
I believe God will guide them in my direction and that is my prayer. I ask that you join me in that prayer. Pray as your heart leads you.
We need to be preparing those who are to follow us. I am fully convinced that the Lord will send us people of His choosing when they are ready to receive our message. The message is pure, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He heals and restores broken hearts. He is rebuilding His true Church and is gifting us the unspeakable Joy of being part of His work. It's humbling and exciting knowing we are chosen to be living stones in His great work. God Bless You for taking in this dirty, raggity, snaggle toothed old Hillbilly biker.
May our work be acceptable in His sight and bring Him eternal glory, in the blessed name of Jesus Amen.

Shamelessly copied and pasted from my blog. It's a contest, nothing of consequence in the long run, but I thought I would mention it. Seems like I'm close to placing for the final round.
Quote:Breaking my blog hiatus to point you all to the Speculative Faith’s winter writing challenge. I hate doing these contests, but the writing prompt immediately sparked a complete story in my head. There you have it.
Read the other stories before voting, though. There’s some good ones there. Anyone can enter, too, so if you write one, let me know. I will return the favor and not vote for it, as well.
Edit: a comment in response to Jill:
Quote:At the bottom of each comment is a thumbs up or down, which counts as the vote…in this round, at least.

This is some stuff that won't fit anywhere else, and I gotta get it off my chest.
1. Somehow I think Trump won't get his wall, but he'll probably get a better fence. And it really doesn't matter much.
2. Some of the things my heart points out to me about the future rest on how certain pivotal figures act or don't act. I've already said Trump missed his cue.
3. For some really strange reason, I feel the urge to quit worrying about the laptop and just focus on having a really solid desktop machine for future ministry work. Not that I was barking up the wrong tree before, but contingencies have shifted.
4. I've got enough mobility stuff for whatever is coming and I'll just sit on that for now. Travel is now unlikely. Should our tax refund turn out as expected, everything else will be covered. The Lord provides for the calling He makes on us.
5. I felt the urge to stock just a certain small collection of canned goods, nothing big. There's still something unseen between us and the first crisis. What's on top of us must come as a surprise for God to get what He wants out of it, so He's not telling what it is.
I still wonder if I'm not going nuts, but this stuff is solid in my convictions.
