There's an awful lot of propaganda going around today about the history of the Holy Land. One of the most annoying things about this effort to twist the story is how Zionist Christians ignore the huge presence of Christians during the period between Christ's Resurrection and current times. Even before the Crusades, a huge number of Christian scholars gathered in the land there and built academies.

Further, the Jews who were also there remained hostile to the Christians, and frequently with violence. No surprise, then, that Christians returned the favor, though seldom with reciprocal violence. Without digging into the murky details, for which documentation is really lacking, and what we have is of poor quality, my point is that the Crusades have very little to do with the actual representative presence of Christians in the Holy Land over the past 2000 years. And today the Zionist Christians, having been seduced into taking up the cause of their Jewish enemies, falsely deny even now that there is any significant Christian presence in Palestine. It's not just Muslims that Israel is oppressing; it's an awful lot of Christians -- who just don't happen to be American evangelicals.

Granted, there is a lot of nonsense that parades falsely under the label of "Christianity" there, just like it is in the rest of the world, but there are genuine people of faith there suffering primarily because American evangelicals enable Jewish hatred. What a perverted thing American Christianity has become.

One of the lessons we learn from the Tower of Babel is what God said: "Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." (Genesis 11:6 KJV) That part where He says, "this they begin to do" in the Hebrew refers to a defiling thing. Further, the words, "which they have imagined to do" refers to evil plans.

If God had let this run its course, things would be so awful that it can't be put into words. His action was redemptive, keeping the doors open so humanity could know they needed His revelation. It was intended to frustrate human wisdom. His solution in that case was to destroy the possibility of unity, and ever since that day, God has continued the same policy. When any agency gets too big and centralized, God destroys the unity so that it cannot continue.

We are about the see the same thing again during our lifetimes. Another empire has arisen to take over the human race and drive it to insanity under evil plotting. Sadly, it is led in part by the US government. We'll see it all up close and personal. God sends angels and demons in a coordinated mission to destroy every such empire. Nobody will be allowed to proceed in peace to their imagined destiny. Human planning for such things must dissolve in chaos. In that sense, all conflicts and wars are commissioned by God. Violence is a necessary ingredient.

Were it not for God provoking people outside His Covenant to hostility, humanity would quickly forget that this world is fallen. Political leadership cannot be allowed to gain sufficient wisdom to do what really would work. They will always become obsessed about something that doesn't matter, some distraction that will keep them from succeeding. They will not be allowed to rise up on the power of genuine charisma and intelligence, as Nimrod had in his day.

Don't waste time praying for human peace. Pray that folks see that the only peace possible with peace with God -- shalom. Without His peace, chaos is a necessity.

Three months ago my convictions told me to quit eating red meat, filthy swine, shellfish and most dairy. 
They told me to exercise and get in shape. I lost 25 lbs of fat and gained back 5lbs in muscle.
They told me "let your yay be yay and your nay, nay" so, I'm more circumspect. 
I stopped taking oxycodone on May 10th. 
That much I can stand by.

I have important phone call to make today, it's causing an undue and unwarranted anxiety so much so that every time I have approached this particular "thing that needs doin'", it builds until I have to back off leaving a job unfinished. It is the final thing necessary to finalize Michelle's estate (she had no will), it's a simple matter but, there is a wall there. Part of it is the feeling that I am abandoning my wife. Literally, makes no sense but, there it is, my current stumbling block. Pray as led. Thank you.

I have come to realize that my wife was the one blessed by God and I was there as a challenge. She was one of the finer examples of Christian living and knew instinctively the right thing to do. As a result of her obedience she was blessed so much so that, the overflow from her cup soaked whoever was near. As is normal for people in the out group to desire entry into the in group, I wanted it bad and blessings have a way of bouncing around and I took that as God choosing me. My experiences of the last four months suggest the possibility.
