It turned out we were in line behind two others for that apartment. We made a concerted effort to check other options and found something still better than our current situation. We have received notice that our application was accepted and we are locked in for starting our move on August 9. There are only a couple more things to do in terms of paperwork, but we've already been packing for the past week.

The Lord gave us favor in the sight of the management where are have been the past 8 years. Once we get it clean and turn in the key, they'll pro-rate a refund for the final month's rent (August) we already paid. The only big hassle yet to face is the truck rental; our cars cannot move some of the furniture we have.

God is good.

What wonderful news!  I am happy for you and can hardly wait until (if you are willing) to see some pictures of your new place.  Answered prayers in a way that was hoped for.  I know, it is all His will; grateful for this answer.....

Why is getting a truck rental a hassle?  Are they all booked up or do you simply not have that many places to get one?

Keep us posted and advise if we can be of any help, albeit long distance.   Smile

Truck rental is a hassle because that's the nature of truck rental at the best of times. However, this is the high season, and it can be difficult to get something that matches your needs.

Not sure why, but the times I've needed to rent a truck (very rarely), I've never had a problem. I wonder if there's a regional difference, but I don't know what could cause that sort of thing.

Anyways, glad to see God granted this provision for you Smile

The thing with moving rentals around here is the massive Tinker AFB, and the fact this is their turnover season. Because of that, there is a knock-on effect of turnover in contractors that rely on Tinker's business. We have a massive Boeing campus outside the south gate. The other military contractors are lurking around other parts of the perimeter fence. When given a choice, most people with children want to move July or early August so as to enroll their kids in the new school before classes start. At any rate, I'll trust the Lord to provide.

As of 09 August 2023, our new address will be:

467 Harr Drive, APT A
Midwest City, OK 73110

Well, the Lord will provide one way or another!  I will be certain to be specific when I pray for y'all.

I am excited for you!  And now I can put your new address in all my address books.   Big Grin Wink

I've got a reservation for a Penske truck from Home Depot for the day of the move through 24 hours. We'll see how it turns out.

Slightly OT, but "Midwest City" is such an non-descript city name, like "State College" here in PA. My mom didn't believe that was a real name until I showed her on a map.

Glad you found an available truck.... Hope that is enough time.  Do you have help?

No human help, anyway, Linda.

Yes, Jay, and lately the USPS has begun referring to the addresses as OKC on their website. I'm not sure why, but I suspect the change is intentional.
