It turned out we were in line behind two others for that apartment. We made a concerted effort to check other options and found something still better than our current situation. We have received notice that our application was accepted and we are locked in for starting our move on August 9. There are only a couple more things to do in terms of paperwork, but we've already been packing for the past week.
The Lord gave us favor in the sight of the management where are have been the past 8 years. Once we get it clean and turn in the key, they'll pro-rate a refund for the final month's rent (August) we already paid. The only big hassle yet to face is the truck rental; our cars cannot move some of the furniture we have.
God is good.

Truck rental is a hassle because that's the nature of truck rental at the best of times. However, this is the high season, and it can be difficult to get something that matches your needs.

The thing with moving rentals around here is the massive Tinker AFB, and the fact this is their turnover season. Because of that, there is a knock-on effect of turnover in contractors that rely on Tinker's business. We have a massive Boeing campus outside the south gate. The other military contractors are lurking around other parts of the perimeter fence. When given a choice, most people with children want to move July or early August so as to enroll their kids in the new school before classes start. At any rate, I'll trust the Lord to provide.
As of 09 August 2023, our new address will be:
467 Harr Drive, APT A
Midwest City, OK 73110

I've got a reservation for a Penske truck from Home Depot for the day of the move through 24 hours. We'll see how it turns out.

Slightly OT, but "Midwest City" is such an non-descript city name, like "State College" here in PA. My mom didn't believe that was a real name until I showed her on a map.

No human help, anyway, Linda.
Yes, Jay, and lately the USPS has begun referring to the addresses as OKC on their website. I'm not sure why, but I suspect the change is intentional.
