Weekly Wednesday Prayer + Fasting, 9/23/2020
Posted by: jaybreak - 09-23-2020, 09:54 AM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

We are participating in our weekly prayer time at 5pm EST. Check out the prayer request forum for some prayer topics, but feel free to lift up your own.

You may also fast. There's no obligation or guidelines to how you should do it, or if you should do it at all. Just fast as the Lord leads and speaks to your convictions.

  Something Missing
Posted by: Ed Hurst - 09-17-2020, 08:48 AM - Forum: Prayer Requests - Replies (5)

There is a sense in which none of really need my leadership. I'm just a fellow traveler telling you what I've seen, and all of you have seen some of the same things on your own. Thus, I'm little more than a discussion leader. I'm not really a pastor for more than a tiny handful of those who read this forum, and that's the way it should be.

So as one of a company of heart-led followers of Christ, I'm asking for your prayers that the Lord can break through my hard head on some things. I can feel the struggle between my heart and my head, and the resistance is just a matter of a life-long exposure to lies. I'm trying to discern what really matters in something pressing against my prophetic gift. My flesh keeps putting crap into the payload that doesn't belong.

Here's what I have so far that seems clear: The coming federal elections will be a huge turning point in our lives here in the USA. At some level, everything will come apart in that temporal event. It's like I can see a huge storm bearing down on me, and I struggle to discern how much of it is just for me, and how much will affect everyone else, and in what way. There's something missing from the picture, and I wonder if any of you have a piece of the puzzle that I didn't discover.

Somewhere in there I'm seeing a dramatic shift of governing power from the federal apparatus to corporate hands. It's more than just lobbying; it will be literal control. The official government will lose control of everything and collapse. Most of the folks working in that system won't even realize it, and will keep trying to do what they have always done. Meanwhile, the Big Tech companies in particular will be effectively cut loose to do whatever they like. The only restraint will be other government entities rising to fill in the gap (related to that secession stuff I keep ranting about).

That's as far as I can take it. Seems to me there's something I still haven't discerned, so I'm not comfortable trying to press this as a prophetic word.

forgot weekly prayer announcement this week

Your junior elder is playing the "I'm just a trainee" card, here, which equates to an occasion of poor time management while working from home. I've been doing that since March, so you would think I would have a good rhythm by now--which I do--but it took a misstep this week. Smile

Not of Hurricane Laura but a recent little squall here in western PA. It lasted only 30 minutes like this (60 mph winds), but we lost power for a few hours and there was some thunderless lightning (doesn't exist but we were too far away to hear it) that was lighting up the sky well into midnight. Interesting stuff.

Couldn't stay out there long because I was getting soaked, even as I was cowering in the corner under the awning.

Edit: I took the video down from Youtube, but you can view it here.

  Associations
Posted by: IainH - 08-16-2020, 12:03 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (2)

The only functional top down system is God's. One of his uh..."things" is Individual Liberty. Human beings are free to do whatever the heck they want, I learned that from my beloved brother in law's suicide in 2002 and the lesson is ongoing. Over the last 20 years, what I practice is, not burning bridges, they take a vast amount of effort to rebuild. In the course of our lives we are given the opportunity to make voluntary associations with others and I always strive to be viewed positively by the people I meet, this is where good manners and a cheery disposition come in handy. I can make the grouchiest old bat smile and be pleasant, given enough time, even the ladies at the DMV.  Oddly enough, I'm not going to bore you with examples. It's either a gift or I'm just stubborn or maybe it's just not that hard.
Every time you make a positive association, that is a future asset. I am the senior RF elder here in Southern Appalachia...wow! It appears that I got a promotion, I literally didn't know that until I wrote it. Well, that certainly has ramifications..."oh stop it, it's the default position because you're the only one around here".... Humbling isn't He.
Nonetheless, I don't know which associations are going to be needed during the course of my mission therefore I must make the effort that they are all positive. There are always going to be people who will not like me for no reason and that's their loss. Had I put my abilities to use in the pursuit of mammon, I would be rich by now but, my desire has always been to know God, the person.
It's God's desire for me that, I have run from and tried to numb far too often. I ask for your prayers that, I may open myself to the fiery sword fully, my window of opportunity will close if I don't and in my heart, I know that is unacceptable. Satan's seduction is "you need resources for your mission...people need to understand that real Federalism is the only way to stabilize America"...
God gave me the answers to those questions years ago. 1. Jehovah Jireh and 2. "I don't need the USA"...Satan likes to use my concern for my children's futures as a pry bar. Yes, it would be nice if States reclaimed their rightful Sovereignty over the Feds but, the Empire has existed longer than the Republic and American's live under the illusion of a Republic. I would be willing to support any goat that leads that effort within the boundaries of my own calling.
Again, I urge all of us here to make positive associations even with, disagreeable people. You never know went it will be returned to you as gain for God's Glory.

  The Barrelhead Is Gone
Posted by: Ed Hurst - 08-15-2020, 12:04 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (6)

No more "cash on the barrelhead." My beloved just handed me some cash to carry in my wallet (I tend not to use ATMs). After a moment's thought, I realized there are darn few places I can spend it. Most self-checkouts don't take or give cash, and most stores where I shop won't return loose change around here. It's getting surreal.
