I've seen ribbons dried out, but most of those were old. I suppose it might have something to do with the ambient conditions.

The thing arrived today. It's nothing special and you can find pictures of this model easily on the Net. There was one minor hitch: the paper advance/return lever doesn't work. There's a tiny black wire attaching it to the advance mechanism that broke. I'm looking for a local repairman. It's not as if I couldn't use it like this, but I'm hoping to find someone who can fix it because I have no idea how to get to this broken part.

I won't be using it much right away. It's for later when the situation changes. The Lord is pushing me to prepare for doing more ministry offline. It's rather odd because I currently have frankly few social connections in the real world around here where I live. I'm convinced that will change, that there are a lot of big changes coming, but it's still invisible from where I stand right now.

I really believe your situation will change and you will have more social connections where you live. I believe you are spot on with your convictions. I’m excited for the soon coming days.

I have few social connection irl as well. Aside from work, it's my writing critique group, and once in a while I'll be in conversation with older friends who don't live near me. As Denise mentioned, the local connections will ramp up by necessity, I think.
