On the Doorstep
#1
First, you need to understand that I don't feel threatened at all. God is going to take care of us and there's nothing to fear. At the same time, I have this overwhelming sense that something challenging is right on our doorstep. I can't say if that's true for any of you folks, but it's what I feel like here.

Veloyce and I are hoping we can take a trip out to the Black Kettle National Grasslands in western Oklahoma tomorrow. If there's time, I'll also try to catch the Antelope Hills, as well, since they are close together. The weather should be just right, before the heat-wave hits. It may the last such trip for a while, for a lot of different reasons. Stuff is about to fall off a cliff. Pray with us that we will all know what to do.

I have felt the same, for quite some time now.  But there is peace in my soul even though the "coming of" whatever it may be is unknown, to me anyway.  There is no fear in the hearts of God's people.  Though I must admit I do fear for those who will fall victim to their fears and what all that will do to or as a result of it in their lives.  May we pray for each other that Father will guide us in the days ahead!

Isa 41:13 "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not; I will help thee"

Joshua 1:9  "...  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Have a safe and Blessed journey tomorrow!

I bought three legal pads on what I thought was a whim. I was wrong, I'm supposed to write something. Brothers and Sisters, it might be a good idey to write down, in a non digital form, those things that are most important to you, should there arise a situation in which the electronic doodads are no longer usable. That bright ball God put in the sky, is more than able to do just that on it's own. All God has to do is, not deflect it by fiddling with it, just like He did in 1859 as a sign for later generations (that's just by my own reckoning)
I don't just sense something wonky, I see it, I mean Jeremiah is no longer a dense impenetrable monolith but, rather blissfully easy to understand, unfortunately it's really hard to put into words. God will provide.
I told Ed about my long held weird attraction to the possibility of a catastrophic CME hitting Earth. I did enough research to understand that it would be a cataclysm. Well, I have it on the Highest Authority...it's gonna happen. I ain't never been told to prophesy before...mmh...more of a burden than I expected and I can't say that I particularly like it. "Thank you Lord...but, I'm kinda hopin' this ain't gonna be a regular thing or is it part of becoming a perfect and upright man, and one that fears God, and eschews evil and why Job? Okay, I get it, ha! Good one". He said "look at your raisin', boy." Most of the time, God's voice goes to my heart and can take a spell to get into my consciousness, usually in the form of a realization. Sometimes, it goes straight from my heart to my consciousness and then it is usually in the form of in my native tongue. One time, I was on one of my walks and He used Samuel L Jackson's voice, it got my attention right quick but, I couldn't help but laugh because, I mean SLJ is renowned for a certain expletive and as my yay is yay by gosh, I heard it.
God has a sense of humor and, seein' as that we're made in His image, it's a sin not to have one.

It's not a bad time for those who write to gather a few classic writing supplies. I've been looking at manual typewriters, for example. So far, I haven't found anything I like, but I'm still looking. Meanwhile, a few pads of lined paper is not a bad idea.

Pre-plandemic I was doing writing for an hour in a salt and pepper notebook and a pencil, at a Starbucks near work. Those were the days...

Ok, brothers.  This is from your sister.  The one that lives alone.....  (just sayin)

So, I have planned for many years to ensure that I have what I "think" I need for the jic - before it got to be today.  So, email me or post here what all I should be having for the jic of today's world.

The answer is in the question: "What do you need to carry out your mission and calling?" Think about what your convictions demand you have on hand. The primary effects of catastrophe will be mostly a matter of power outages. Nobody knows how pervasive or for how long they'll be.

So, for me, it's a matter of being ready to keep sharing the teaching of the Word. I need to have lots of paper and writing supplies on hand. I may also need envelopes and stamps at some point. It's not enough to know that a CME of some size is coming, but that I've been warned in my convictions to start pulling away from using the Internet as my mission field. While I don't yet see what will replace that mission field, I know that the Net is no longer it. This is not the end of computer use, but the end of being an expert on how to navigate and use the Internet. I won't forget what I know about that, but I'll stop doing very much of it. As long as I have a computer, you can bet I'll use it for writing and printing stuff, but I have no idea how long I'll have one that works. So there is a matter of practical steps to be able to carry on the mission of sharing the Word.

The rest is just incidentals. Veloyce and I keep a rotating supply of certain canned goods, but only for as much room as we have in our apartment. We hope our cars keep working, but I've still got my bicycle. I'm expecting an economic collapse of some sort, so I'm buying supplies of stuff I am pretty sure I'd use in almost any context. I'm sure some measure of the economy will recover later, but it's preparing for that period of time between the current system crashing and a new one rising to replace it. Meanwhile, I'm keeping an eye on the decline we are facing right now, and I'm adjusting my buying choices as I learn how some things have already become so useless I should stop buying them. I'm adjusting my eating habits to match what I estimate is likely to be still available during and maybe after. It's that kind of thinking we all probably need.

I'm sure the others can add their own ideas.

I've done some things with food and general preparedness. Nothing too quite out of the ordinary from a lot of people do when they own a home, to be honest, but I suppose being more careful/"mindful" of things.
