Apartment Fire
#1
No, not mine, but in the same complex. We were awakened this morning to sirens just outside in the street at around 5 AM. Smoke was rising from one of the buildings out of our line of sight. Veloyce went over to see and the firemen were chopping away at the door of an upstairs unit, yet the lights were all on inside. We don't know who the residents are, but I'm sure we'll find out more later today. The bigger problem is the likelihood other residents may be forced out by the damage.

Correction: The source of the fire was in a downstairs apartment. There were three other units directly affected by the fire and smoke.

Sending up a good word now.

From that picture, it doesn't look like too much damage, as far as fires can be. I don't know the condition of the insides though.

As I understand it, that was a bedroom window. A lot of furniture was tossed out that window by firemen, and that's a maintenance guy cleaning up the debris after most of the big stuff was removed. At a minimum, there is a lot of smoke damage in the rest of the apartment. The one above it appears to have some heat damage. The other two on the far side of that pair probably have light smoke damage. One unit was unoccupied as can be seen by the missing electric meter.

As y'all know, we had a fire at our house back in 2017.  It was terrible.  I feel for those folks!
