Doug passed last night. I'm waiting to hear back from my Mom on whether she wants me to make the trip, since he had requested cremation of his remains.

Ed did leave this morning for Texas around 7:30 AM. I have heard from him along the way. Just waiting to hear if he may it. Yes it's lonely. There is a strange felling around here tonight. Pray for us I don't like what I am hearing outside tonight.

Sweet Sister of mine. I can only imagine how lonely and alone you must feel with your man not there beside you. My heart is with you; believe me when I tell you that. And right now at this very moment I'm going to pause and say a prayer to Our Father in heaven for you. So if you feel a nice warm feeling coming into your body and nestling into your heart you'll know that that is my prayer and the Father is reaching down to you to comfort you and bring you peace.

Dear heavenly Father, we thank You so much for all the blessings You give to us each day.  Your Love is incredible.  Father, we ask You to keep Your hedge of angels around Ed and protect him as he comes to the end of his journey.  And we ask that You reach down and touch Veloyce's heart with your Peace, that you comfort her and let her know You are with her.  Keep her at peace and fill her with courage as she faces this time alone.

We are here with you, Sister.  In heart, in spirit and in His Love.  I am sending you a great big hug.  And know that I am here if you need me.  For anything!

Love you!!   Heart

As you might have heard, I'm here in Palm Valley, TX. Things are okay, but the car's alternator light came on a few times. I'll be stuck here until I can find out what the issue is. Meanwhile, I did bring my laptop and my cellphone, so I'm able to keep in touch. I'm using my mother's wifi.

Re: the car -- two things.

The shops here in this area are overwhelmed. I cannot get help from them for weeks to come.

I looked at the belts and detected a slippery, almost oily film on one of the pulleys. So I decided to try belt-dressing. It made a huge difference in how the engine sounded. As I drive around here today, I'll keep a watch on it. When something like an alternator fails, it's almost always all or nothing. It's quite rare for them to give trouble until they simply quit working.
