None of her previous hospitalizations resulted in the lifestyle changes appropriate to her condition, in spite of her statements that "this time" things were gonna change. I pray, for the sake of our children, that she follows through with her promise "this time". Unlike everyone else who can take the positive view, I must consider all possibilities and plan accordingly.
She has fatty liver which, the Doctor thinks is a result of diabetes. She has a new fluid pill prescribed. Not being a medical professional, it appears to me to be a case of "try this and if it doesn't work we'll try a different medication" or what I liken to slinging different stuff at a wall until something sticks. Standard medical practice.

It does make things difficult for everyone when a loved one doesn't put in the effort that everyone knows would help.  B never did do anything anybody suggested (especially if it came from me).  I am right there with you and will pray she focuses on doing the right for her family's sake.  I am pretty sure we are all guilty of this at some point or another; it is actually selfish.  And, I am most certainly talking to my own self here!

I was acutely aware of the three fingers pointing back at me when writing that post. To write my failings in contrast would have required a long, long post and I'm already long winded enough.
