It's true. Me, Michelle and Megan are in Greensboro, NC. My daughter's HS drama outfit "Watauga Playmakers", jest won the State whatever champions? But, anyway they won their state regional last week, next up is SE USA in Louisville, Kentucky. We are right proud of these dorky young'uns. I shouldn't call them dorky...weird then, yeah buddy they sure ain't the Football team, I tell you what. "Ernest and the Pale Moon" is the theater nerds play. The first time I saw it; I couldn't hardly hear the dialogue much at all but, I got the story through the acting, kinda like watching a silent movie. Then, I read the script... Verily, Verily I say unto thee, it was uh...not all dat. I must say...these kids really sell it. There used to be the "Blowing Rock Stage Company" in BR that ran a summer schedule of like, four or five different plays in the Blowing Rock School auditorium and they were good AND cheap. They were run by a board of functionaries who decided to borrow $$$ a build a real theater, they went bankrupt after one season and Samaritan's Purse bought the building and now it's a "S'martin's Purrse training center". I did see Guy Penrod before they went belly up.
Michelle and I used to go to BRSC every year befo' we had "chillins" "chidren" it'saaallgood. According to the race hustlers "THAT'$ RACIST! " no it ain't. Back in the day, Real Black Folk didn't care if you were just messin around, at least de cullid people I knowed didn't. They will talk cracker back at me and we all just laugh. People have gotten waaaaay too sensitive, I mean like, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too SENS-SIT-TIVE. Grow a hide already! Get over yourself! You are far too young to be so angry! SJW's ain't worth my time, I got better things to do.
Boy boy has the house to himself and I am certain that he enjoying it. I'm lucky to have good kids because I was a hellion when I was 17 & 18, drinking in bars and doing stuff with females that ain't seemly. They are gems by comparison even if "Child:Unit-Female" had us trek all the way down here to spend the night and take her back to Greensboro College (that's where their play acting is at) at 8:00 am for something or other and then haul her home. Mama is upset with her daughter because she told her that she was riding home with her friend and that she could have spent the night with her friend and could she go spend the night with her friend in her friend's room after insisting that Mama came down and get a hotel room. I couldn't follow the reasoning myself because it's been a while since "Miss Pippy" has slept in the middle and that makes me happy enough but, gosh...this young'un is sawing some serious logs. Time for me too. zzzzzzzzzzz...

Happy snowy Wednesday, everyone (at least, it's snowy where I am in western PA).
We are participating in our weekly prayer time at 5pm EST. Check out the prayer request forum for some prayer topics, but feel free to lift up your own.
You may also fast. There's no obligation or guidelines to how you should do it, or if you should do it at all. Just fast as the Lord leads and speaks to your convictions.

I don't know what anyone's position here is regarding the 2nd amendment but, as I point out to people, the 2nd amendment prohibits the general government from infringing on what our founders considered a natural right and, that the right to keep and bear arms is not one granted by the government and, therefore it cannot be rescinded by the government.
Today the Connecticut supreme court ruled that the Sandy Hook survivors could proceed in a lawsuit against Remington as the manufacturer of the firearm used by the nut responsible. This is a very dangerous decision because, it now opens gun manufacturers to a tsunami of lawsuits designed to put them out of business. This is an end run around the 2A.
Every oppressive, authoritarian government in history confiscates its citizens guns. This assault on one section of the country against another is going to have serious consequences because gun lovers like myself ain't gonna just sit by and let it happen. It is the greatest rift in the country since the war to prevent Southern Independence.

Bro. Tom out in California emailed to let me know that he's in the ER with liver/gall bladder issues. He went to the ER almost 2 months ago and didn't say much about it, but took a trip yesterday and it all flared up on him. I guess this is the time of infirmity all over the place. We got a heap of praying to do.

Finally, my foot is healthy enough to ride my motorcycle and tomorrow perhaps but, for sure Sunday I will ride a little, it all depends on the temperature and wind. Accuweather is calling for a high tomorrow of 43° and 56° for Sunday. Common sense dictates Sunday as the better choice, however common sense is not a virtue that I possess in great abundance and, I will probably wrap up like Nanook of the North and go for a short ride tomorrow. Last winter, I made a 50 mile round trip when the temp was in the low 20's, that was a character builder.
I had to sit out most of the summer and it was hard seeing other people enjoying themselves while I could only watch. Major bummer.
Riding is an exhilaration that makes me grin like an idiot every time, I forget all my troubles and just relish the moment. I had big plans to take it on camping trips and visit my buddy in Roan Mountain, Tennessee and going to bike rallies and whatnot and it didn't happen so, with my usual sarcasm and sense of irony, I decided to rechristen the mc Traveler. We'll see what happens, pray for my safety please.

My son-in-law, Bill, has just been admitted into our hospital here. He has MRSA. I am not sure how severe it is, but having dealt with it with other family members before, hospitalization is not usual for early stages. Please remember him in your prayers.

A few years ago my younger brother died from self-abuse (drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc.). His widow (Leslie) is now in the hospital with cranial hemorrhaging, likely the long term result of similar bad habits. She still has the two daughters, both in their teens. It doesn't look good for Leslie. She is vaguely spiritual but not particularly Christian, though perhaps more so than my secularist brother was. Pray as you feel led, but I'm just a bit worried about the girls. I don't think they have anywhere to go that would feel like home to them, so they are likely to end up wards of the state. Leslie has been deeply engaged with the welfare system for years.
