Yesterday I read something that made me realize that withdrawing myself from church is not a great idea anymore. It was because I needed time away. For a while, all I focused on was what was wrong and what I disagreed with. However, I have forged ties with these people going back two decades, I have rejoiced and grieved with them. I can't just blaze a trail ahead on my own and try to build a body on my own, made up of people who agree with my peculiar religion.
I can forget about the stuff they get wrong and concentrate on serving God as a weirdo in a sea of conformity. They need someone who ain't skeerd to whop a yeller jackets nest. My Daddy challenged me frequently on matters of my faith in Jesus Christ. Walk it, don't talk it was his challenge to me and anyone else who claimed to be a Christian in his presence. This was the purpose for which he was made. Now, I must pick up the cross laid down by my father and carry it forth, without any expectation of seeing results that can be seen outside of Heaven.
