Old, new & renewed.

Keep these two in your heart please.
 1. I'm still hoping to make the Congregation Show on the 13th, if I don't then the time ain't right. It was always gonna be tight. All I can do is continue to work and according to the weather forecast, one day will have the right mix off temperatures and humidity to apply a gloss clearcoat over the current satin on my gas and oil tanks. Last year, I used Satin clear and although it protected the sticker bomb, it didn't "POP" like I wanted it to. I still have a lot of work to do.
2. I'm in a lot of pain.

The Hillbilly Way.
 Hillbilly Engineering (Injuneern')
I was taught from a young age certain principles.
1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
2. When a thing is no longer in use, don't throw it away. Store it, at a later date the thing or it parts can be repurposed for another use.
Example, in our old place my son's bedroom was the original master br. I made him a toilet roll stand to use and when he outgrew it, I repurposed it as a fan stand. When we cleared out the old joint, I stored it outside. It was made of pressure treated lumber so it withstood the weather. On Saturday, I took it apart (using screws makes it simple) and rebuilt it wider than original and added a 2by4 to the top. Voila! A stand to hold up the rear of my bike after I took the wheel off.
Sunday, in spite of the pain I cleaned the rear fender so, I achieved something.
Monday; build a front stand, take off the front wheel and start rebuilding the forks, if I have a good day I'll get the forks rebuilt.
Tuesday; Inspect wheels and tighten the spokes, after that take wheels and new tires to bike shop and leave them to be mounted and balanced.
Wednesday; reassemble the bike and do a little sheet metal fabrication.
Thursday;  spare day because nothing ever goes according to plan there will be work to do.
Friday ; rest and recuperate, hopefully before my long ride to the show Saturday.

Final request, I promise. I'm looking at video editing apps for Galaxy Tab A (2017), pray the Lord guide me to the right one. I've taken stills and will take more and shoot video. My idea is germinating but, I will give you what I have so far, idea wise. A YouTube video showing the build, kinda like a stop motion and video that distills the process of the build into a short section, the finished bike, a section on the ride and ending with video of the show.
Working title. One week build, ride to and sights of the 3rd Annual Congregation Show, Charlotte NC. That's too long. I'll figure it out.
Thank you in advance for your prayers. Let His Glory Shine!

This strikes me as a great initiation into mission work. While I hope you can figure out how to make that video, I note that someone is giving me a desktop system later this week. Here's hoping it still have life left in it.

Struck? Mmm... ... ... 《considerable, considerin's. I'm gonna need to ponder a spell, that opening sentence of yours.
I've been delayed by rain and tryin' to use my considerable injineern skills to get around my Immediate problem of the unpredictable nature of spring weather. Party cloudy with some sunshine in the morning with rain late afternoon was the forecast. Soggy morning fog giving way to monsoon was what I got, so I removed the gas tank and prepped it for clear. I didn't want to risk my power tools so, I didn't build a stand so I could rebuild my forks.
It's said about our spring weather "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes"
It's tarps, rope, bungy cord, old 2" PVC pipe rain protection time. Fortunately, there's Me and two other me's working on it. So the issue is in good hands. The silly ones were sent on hiatus until I get this sorted. Then they can provide comic relief.
"Yo! Missionary Operations Specialist 1 c'mere.
   "MOS1 Reporting for duty SIR"
"I need you to read what Ed wrote and do whatever"
    "I'm on it sir"
    "Good man".
See, everything is copacetic, I hate that word it started showing up ten, fifteen years ago. I feel about it like I do "specificity" WE ALREADY HAD A WORD!!!! SPECIFICS. The media, damn them all!!!!

Shining His glory is everything. Doing what everyone else does, except with the intention of glorifying Him, is how we begin our witness to the world.

I am really looking forward to your photographic, videographic thingamajiggee you are going to produce/present.  I love to watch bikes or cars being rebuilt.  Hubby used to always be working on something and I don't why, I just loved watching.  I guess back in the day when I used to work on cars must have triggered that interest and fascination.   (Yeah I used to work on cars - back before computer modules and all that fancy stuff)

Keep us posted.   Wish I could be at that show, but Charlotte is just a teeny bit too far for little ol me.

What a great way to shine His Glory to the folks that will be there.  They will come if His plans are involved in this.  I am excited for you!

Iain - The video thing is great idea. I've been wanting to see something video-wise, from our crew, off and on, for a little bit now. It's not in my wheelhouse, though. If your convictions are leading you to do it, do it regardless of outcomes. We sometimes (or often?) don't see any results with what we do except for what He chooses to show us. It can be discouraging but there's shouldn't be any guilt felt in following through.

I do like the idea of each of us having our own side-ministries, though it's not as if they "minor" compared to what we do here. But it's something we can pray about corporately, but the individual has the sole responsibility of actually implementing it.
