Pain Gain! HA!!! U ain't bin ther
#1
Howdy! My dear bro's & sis's. Thanks to our gov't drug prohibition "War on Drugs". Study the history,  basically it was Dick Nixon's vengeance against silly youth. Vindictive and spiteful, he didn't follow the recommendations of his own group that he assigned to study sensible drug policy. They did their job, Dick ignored it and got his "get those damn hippies" bill passed. Enough! Anyway the point the drug war is a corrupt and downright evil enterprise. Now, to keep it going they have create new "crises" periodically eg, heroin in the 70's, coke 80's, crack then tasy 90's and so on until they now demonize prescription meds. I take pk's for genuine reasons, as do 95% of people who do, because a few abuse prescription drugs everyone who depends on them to function half assed like a human being and don't take more than we're supposed to. We are the ones who wind up getting a federal and state, well.... It's rude but it ain't no ordinary prostate exam.
Taking all this into consideration I made to quit. Last wee I weaned down and have been free of opiods since Sunday. I feel reasonably okay, rt now. Quitting is a nasty business, I can't say anymore unless  you've been through, you don't know (cuss warning!!!) Shit!
Now, before you get so saying attaboy Mr Iain, I did this to find the least meds my pain can live with. Today I'm working on my motorsickle. I have pain that feels like electric shock going from my neck tio my shoulders and down my arms. Sciatica gets my hips and runs down my right leg a d has a screamin meemie in me three middle toes. The left stops behind the knee thank goodness. Working today means pain tomorrow and then I'll start with a lower dose than what I was doing. Cutting back before the gov't clamps down on legit pain patients. They are totally depraved.
Trust me I ain't looking for sympathy, I'm just saying. Yeah, I've been afflicted with some physical challenges but, it is just what's common to man in the fallen realm. Besides, I holler hallelujah in the midst of adversity and rejoice in taking on the suffering of Christ and that, my friends is freakin' AWESOME!!!! GOD IS GOOD!!AMEN!!!

Shrink not from adversity; seize the adventure. You never know until you spend quality time with your own body just what kind of damage has been done. The valid use of pain meds is to silence nerve signals that serve no good purpose. Since the thing causing the pain can't possibly be fixed any better without a miracle, the message about damage ain't helping nobody. I'm praying you come to terms with your body on how to move forward with the mission from God.

Amen, Bro just keep lifting this hardheaded sob up until he does some good. I don't mind a tail whuppin' from the Lord, it only makes me a better kid.
Nerve pain is in my case relentless, it NEVER stops. I just need enough meds to cancel that constant thrum. If you've ever accidentally touched a 600 amp fuse while pointing at it, that is a fair comparison to what I have. There is still plenty of"dang it that hurts" to go around but, that comes and goes and I can handle pain for a period of time knowing it will get better. The constant kind drives you nuts. I've heard that people have actually killed themselves over it and I understand why, it can grind you down. Fortunately, I'm mostly of a cheery disposition except when I'm not. Darn, that is an amazing realization, not. I'm not crazy, I just have a few pieces missing.

Hi.

With fibromyalgia and the disks in my lower back compressed, i understand pain.  It never ever goes away.  Fortunately, i can handle it without meds most of the time.  I feel for you but there is no way i could ever know what you experience with your pain.  You are in my thoughts (yes, i actually do think about you every day  Smile  ) and prayers.  May you actually have moments of no pain just so you can have a break!

Love you brother!

Let us know how things turn out as this week rolls on, if you can. We will pray for you this Wednesday...and other times, too, of course.

I get sciatic pain if I sit too long. Luckily at work we have adjustable desks, so I stand most of the time during the work week. But, doesn't sound anything like what you have.

I've managed to reduce my pk intake by one third so, I made my goal. Yesterday, I did some landscaping around the house, moving rocks from behind the house to the front where I'm using them as borders for flower beds. I'm sore today but, nothing major.

What are pk's, exactly? I've never heard the term before. I Googled but I got some technical medical stuff.

Regardless, glad to hear the progress, and that you have enough fight in you to take the reins. Like Ed said, consider it an adventure, where the pain is just the path you take to the end.

Opioid pain killers is what I'm referring to.
