Baby Luca
#1
As most of you know, yesterday I was at my BF Michelle's son's and sister in law's baby shower.  I ended up in the ER see other post, but now we all need to pray for Baby Luca.

He was not due until Oct. 23rd.  As I just said, his baby shower was yesterday.  At 5:30AM today, her water broke and just before noon today, Luca came into the world.  So, I am thinking she was in her 36th or 37th week.  His lungs have fluid.  Not sure if he has RDS (Respiratory Distress Syndrome) or another acronym, but he had to put on a ventilator for at least the next 12 hours.  Typically, babies get better and have no long-lasting ill effects from this.  BUT, long term effects are unknown until the child gets older.

So, if you would, please, let's all pray for Baby Luca that all who have him in their care, will be patient, compassionate and endowed with the Lord's wisdom in caring for and determining what care is needed in the days ahead.  And may we pray for his parents to have courage, strength and faith (they are not believers) and not feel any guilt that they may have in any way caused the early birth and lung issues.  And, of course, pray for that precious little baby that Our Father will reach down and touch his little body and bring complete healing.

Thank you!   AMEN.....

Hallelujah!!

It appears that baby Luca will be moved to a room where his mommy and daddy can be with him. They took him off the baby cpap earlier,  and so far,  he's doing okay . I believe he is still on oxygen. Day by day !!  ?❤️?

It was and is so hard for his parents and for "Nana" (my friend, Michelle) to not be able to bring him home.  I remember my nephew's baby who was born 8 weeks early back in January.  So, at least I can sympathize more from that experience.

Thank you all for your continued prayers!  God is so loving and good!!!

Luca is off all the tubes and once another blood test is done, the IV can come out.  He will be admitted to a stepdown room and his mom and dad can be with him.  If all goes well, scheduled discharge is October 8th.  Because he did stop breathing very briefly on his first day, they follow protocol and keep him for seven days.

Things are looking good for our little fella!    Praise the Lord!

Great new update on Luca.  He is doing very well and it is hoped he will be discharged to go home tomorrow.  Poor little man had his circumcision yesterday, but he got over it pretty fast I hear.

Thank you all for the amazing family you are to me and for all of your prayers!!
