Must be an event to come across these as the first sprouts of the season or in an area where nothing eye-catching is growing.
There was a funny thread on Twitter/X I found a while back that rated the root systems of various plants. You can't read it anymore unless you have an account account. For some reason these photos reminded me of that thread.

I love wildflowers! The photo third down of tallish with purple flowers looks like Monarda aka Bee Balm. Its in the same family as wild Bergamot.
You have an amazing array in your state, so close to a city! Very cool......

Most of the time I have no idea what they are called. I do know that echinacea grows wild here, and I can recognize it, along with a half dozen more, but not many.

I love wildflowers and trees. This is the first spring in ages I didn't make it out hiking to celebrate the flowering of the Trilliums.

Wow. If I didn't know better I'd say those buildings were on fire, at least for the initial moment. Neat perspective.
