I've had an F5 miss me by just about 300 yards, and my home at that time was just a trailer house. We were huddled in a sort of storm-shelter provided by the trailer park. It reminded me of standing too close to military cargo jets when they take off. We had to pick up a lot of debris from the yard after it passed. That was back in the 90s. The rest have been quite far from us since then.
