5:50am Thursday, I went and started the car, it was raining 1/8th" ice on the back deck and I slipped enough to give my back a good jolt,  ten minutes later there was 1/4" of ice. "Mmm....I'd better be careful". I was and made it safely to work on time. Nana lost power and the power company says 1am. My wife invited her to come and have a sleepover but, she declined, don't want to leave her house. 
  Saturday is supposed to be nice so I'm going to take Buttercup for one last ride before she gets winterized. 2019 spring she gets new shocks and a front fork rebuild so I can take me a weekend camp to the Roan.

We got ice, too, but it didn't last long. I have a shed in the backyard and the small ramp up to it was a sheet of slipperyness. That was interesting.

Were you able to make it out Saturday?

Yes,I did. I was covered in many layers and only my toes and thumbs got cold a couple of miles from arriving home. The only "hiccup" was I stopped at the gas station and seeing there were no available pumps, I parked to the side to stretch my legs, while I was waiting two younger guys rode in and stopped. We started talking bikes and after a time we left, I got a 1/4 mile down the road and Buttercup sputtered to a halt. "Rats! I forgot to get gas". After that everything was golden. I may even have a quick run to Wal-Mart today, as I'm out of Stabil™.

I laughed (not out loud) at that story; it sounds like something I would do. My head is always somewhere else, by design, which is something I've mentioned plenty of times on here.

Another question: how did she get the name "Buttercup"?

She told me after making sure my intentions were honorable and for life.
