Prayer for my heart please
#1
I do have a prayer request for myself - in the last two weeks, I have had four tests related to my carotid arteries and heart.  Through a series of events, beginning with that baby shower on Sept. 29th and a visit to the ER, the Lord has pushed me to get checked out and I have found that I have some possibly serious health issues that I was totally unaware of until now.  My family doctor is SO good about having me do testing, but somehow these conditions snuck in unwares to all of us.  Each of the test results shows an anomaly or condition that is not good, but I'm not a doctor.

So, I could use some prayers that in the days ahead as I do one more test (heart stress test) and see a vascular surgeon (on October 25th), that the Lord will stay with me and protect me from what could turn out to be quite serious, as in a stroke or heart attack.  I have tremendous faith in Him, so I am not worried as much as I could be.  And, if my time has come, I have had almost 74 years of a good life and I am ready.  We, who believe, know what lies ahead to those who have faith and we know the promise of eternity.

Thank you all for being there for me!!

Love you.....

Whatever happens, it sounds like you have the right attitude and view of things. You can't go wrong. We will of course stand in prayer with you, like Ed said.

My Dad had his carotid artery cleared/repaired over a decade ago. This is one of those procedures they really have dialed in so to speak.

Prayers for your health & healing!

Thank you all so much for your encouragement and prayers.  I am just flowing along His path and worry little.  I am blessed as we all are as we stay as close to Him as humanly possible.

This Friday, I will see that specialist.  Thankfully, I have educated myself so that we can have a good discussion.....

God bless you all!

Good morning!   Tuesday I had my nuclear stress test to observe the blood flow in my heart.  Yesterday evening I received the test results report.  I passed with flying colors!  I am SO grateful to know that my little heart is okay.  I did the math and if my heart averaged 65 beats a minute, it has done so for 2.5 billion times.  And that is at my resting heart rate.  God only knows how many times it actually has.  What an amazing machine God made when he designed our hearts.  And deep within that amazing machine resides the love and spirit of our Lord Jesus!

Tomorrow, I have my appointment at 9am (oh my!) with my new vascular surgeon regarding my carotid arteries, both of which have issues, but I don't know if they are serious enough to warrant any treatment.  I will keep you posted

In the meantime, praise God who not only blesses us but also flows through us to bless all He chooses.  I am grateful.

I am home from the doctor and I have some good news!  I am not at a high risk for stroke.  There can be different reasons for the results that were found in my tests some of which may resolve on their own.  I do not have atherosclerosis.  (Plaque buildup).  I am to continue taking a daily baby aspirin for 3 months, when I will get another CT Angiogram.  If things have cleared up or resolved I will discontinue the baby aspirin and go on being monitored.  If there's still something there , I will continue another three months of the aspirin regimen.  After another CTA, we will go from there.

I could give you more details but you get the gist.

I really like my new doctor.  I am so grateful for everything!  Praise the Lord!

Great to hear, Linda.

Just curious...what's the baby aspirin for? I feel like I should know this.
