Very nice. Odd how it's not even like the normal auroras one sees in the northern latitudes. Those are more like curtains with distinct curved lines, but the ones I keep seeing from this most recent batch of CMEs are just amorphous splashes of color.

Yes Ed, that is a good observation. It also seems odd to me that a G5 level storm did not disrupt satellites, power grid, and other electronics more than reported. Maybe Ben at S0 will have an explanation for this.

Downdetector.com is a great website but there's no way to access historical data to see how the last 24 hours of (reported) outages compare. They at least have a baseline measurement on their graphs, but it doesn't get any more detailed than that. I wonder if their app has more data. |
