The right wise life restoring decisions with mercy.
That is a brief definition I came up with on my own trying to understand those words as I have read them in the Bible law part of the OT.
I would like any of the family here to correct me if I that can be improved.
Also what is your brief definition of judgement and justice?

Oh, tasty bait! In this context, I define justice as both building and restoring. The thing we build and restore is human awareness of God's revelation of how to live in a fallen world. Biblical Law is the exemplary frame of reference that helps us think and act according to God's divine moral character. It's woven into the fabric of reality; it's how the universe operates. Judgement is slicing between what does and doesn't correlate with that divine character in any given context. I think your definition is fine. I'm just trying to put words to the mental image that goes with it.

"Justice," even the high-minded "justice" of western liberals, is really just another word for "fairness." While "fairness" could play a part in actual justice that can bring about shalom, real justice can encompass other things that contradict fairness. God's idea of justice is a lot less to do with getting a fair share and more about pulling down some of the peace from heaven and marinating those around us, particularly those under in our domain, in it.

Hey, this forum is like that chatter at the kitchen table. The blog was like a pulpit, a totally different setting. This is where you'll get treated like family.

Hopefully I can score some flank steak this weekend without taking out a second mortgage.
