To lift up...
#1
Lt Col. Stuart Scheller that the Father might grant he and his family fortitude and mercy.
Laura and Stephen, Jacob and Sarah for the Father to continue to awakening their spirits to the fullness of the truth as He has begun to do in their lives.
That you might stand with me asking the Father to forgive our country of our idolatries and bring repentance to the people.
Finally might you agree with me for our Father to keep me steadfast in true repentance and others like me today and until the hour of our death.

Good request. It would be very easy for this to drift off into populist patriot territory, and that's not what we are about. But you were careful to avoid that, and I am grateful. We should pray that America would repent, but prophetically we know it would be only on a small scale, and this country is doomed. But we'll take all we can get.

I know too little about Scheller the man to comment much. I watched the video, or at last a part of it, what I could find. I suppose I met a few like him in my military service, but they were disappearing quickly even in the 1990s when I left the military. Many of us hoped that the Marines would be the last branch to fall under the idolatry that has consumed America. The one thing I'll agree with most emphatically is what he said about the upper ranks not upholding their part of the bargain, not keeping their promises. They cynically use nice sounding rhetoric, but regard the troops as cannon fodder. They shed no tears. It was bad enough as a trend when I wore the uniform, and it is now the sole policy. This is a good time to get out of the US military; there's not much hope for improvement at any time in the future.

Maybe somewhere down the road, some people with at least a measure of honor will form a new government from some portion of the US that has passed through the fire. I'm praying that the Lord purge from us the folks who hate everything good, or at least let us to go our own way without them.

Is it even justified for Scheller to be in the brig? I mean, the people at the top can basically do whatever they want, it seems, but it feels like there's no effort to hide what they're doing. They could give an official reason but it's probably a technicality. He's really imprisoned because of his opinions.

He did actually violate regulations. He also put them in a very tight spot, as you note. He's trying to get them to just let him go, which would certainly put him in a position to embarrass them even further. If they keep trying to punish him, it will only make things worse in another way, but those in power are doing that anyway. Fortunately, members of Congress are breathing hard on the upper brass right now about him.
