The Burden of Sorrow
#1
I contend that churches have radically departed from the Word, and have led the people astray. But I felt burdened to confess my part in this awful thing. So rather like Isaiah in his prophetic word, I confessed how I participated at times in this terrible thing of misleading the people of God and keeping them from their promised blessings. I didn't see the visions Isaiah saw regarding the coal from the altar, but I believe it's the same way God handles things today. I can say with reverence before Him that we have unclean lips, that our confession has been defiled. So now I'm praying that He will correct me, and allow me to participate in the restoration of that lost heritage.

That probably happened a long time ago in your past, right Ed? Doesn't God follow a statute of limitations? Wink

In all seriousness, I will pray alongside you on this.

Heh; that's funny.

Actually, the Lord does not honor any statute of limitations. He keeps track of some kinds of sin across multiple generations. The issue is that we have to own the problem or it won't change. It's that same protocol of asking the Lord to cleanse sin and start with mine.
