Just some lyrics that have spoken to me the last week. They are a little on the "God good, me bad" side, but I can look past that.

Man, that is me everyday!  Problem is, my knees don't seem to want to bend.   Having a hard time lately, folks........

It's a good thing the Lord doesn't operate on the basis of merit.

I set the high score for demerits...and I ain't done yet. By consistently getting things wrong, eventually all that is left is right. I admit it's not very efficient but, I am not called to be logical and efficient. I don't set out to get it wrong but, it is the effect of not quite being fully informed by my Master. I see through a glass darkly; besides, today's wrong may be right tomorrow. I have learned not to try and divine God's Will because, it is only certain after the fact. I have learned not to whip myself after I've screwed up, for there is a lesson in each one. It is a common tactic amongst Evies to try to reach people when they are in a crisis but, crises pass and it's like a seed in thin soil. That was the method used on me and because of it, I was up and down, in and out for many years. Today, I talk with folks when their life is good and point in the direction of the source of their blessings. God's plan is a really, really, really long term one and my part is small and brief therefore, numbers are irrelevant. I was tremendously blessed to be a part of God's plan for my Dad and it lasted from the time the LORD saved me until my father's passing. I have been taught more about how that worked since he died than I had at any time during the process. The traditional church dies in a post modern world, it already has in Europe and the good old USA is not far behind. The "critical theories" gained a toehold in the SBC just last year and I must admit that I was quite shocked when I found that out. In my opinion, that is the rot that sets in when there is no price to be paid for being a believer. The real church is in countries where Christianity is unlawful and believers face genuine life threatening consequences for their faith. Anyway, these are some of the things I've been pondering during my recent silence.
