I've been fighting off something for a few weeks now. It feels flu-like, but not quite. I am able to function as normal during the day, but I get totally wiped out at night, so it's not something quite so debilitating as the flu or pneumonia. Mrs. Break thinks it's a sinus infection.
I'm going to the doctor's today about it. Normally, I just ride these things out, but its persistence is affecting my writing time and helping out at home after work.

We have a surplus of adenovirus and norovirus type plagues all over the US this year. To me that signals a general rise in all types of sinus troubles, as these lesser known plagues can simply make you far more sensitive than usual to allergens. This is a tough year for sickness, I think it's just part of the background of tribulation.

Mrs. Break's instinct were correct: it was a sinus infection. Got some antibiotics, which I'm not too fond of taking, but it's a pretty standard Rx (amoxicillin). Some antibiotics can do a number on my stomach but amox is safe.
If what you say re: tribulation is correct, I definitely feel bad for those folks who can't cope with it as well as I do.

Just to show you how bad things are...... i just got home from taking my friend to the hospital this morning when i knew something was really wrong with her. She has been sick for three weeks, trying to work as she must with no other income at all. She ended up in emergency surgery. But the horrible thing is she has type A influenza, diverticulitis, developed sepsis from a urinary tract infection all while she was trying to pass a kidney stone. All this was diagnosed TODAY. She is now in ICU! Sickness is running rampant it seems. Thus far, all my daily rituals of plant tinctures have kept me bug-free so far. In general, the overall health in America is deteriorating rapidly. We must all take the right kind of care of ourselves in all ways so we can be there to minister to those who are or will be suffering!

The last month at the jaybreak house has been pretty up and down with sickness. More than past winters, it seems. Even when we've been fine, we've still had a little case of the sniffles or a cough. I thankfully haven't missed any work, especially since I can work from home if needed, but the kids have missed a bit of school.
Can't wait for things to turn around.

I think the researchers were surprised by the extent of it all, not the fact alone.

The article seems has a very foreboding tone, which I guess is understandable. The extent of the virus' traveling doesn't really indicate that they are any more effective because of that. Viruses may fly around the earth but we may only encounter a tiny fraction of them, and even then our immune system blocks most of that fraction anyways.
