Rainbow!
#1
Spotted a big one on my day off yesterday. Photos, I think, tend to demagnify things, because this doesn't look nearly as big as it did in person.

EDIT: Dunno why it's sideways. Here's the direct link with the proper orientation.

EDIT EDIT : I couldn't stands it no more, so I embedded the right image.

Sweet. What a wonderful reminder of God's enduring promise.
Capturing the sky is really difficult.
During the summer, if the conditions favor, I can take a ten minute ride from my house to an overlook on the BRP at sunset. My best camera is on my old Galaxy smart phone, I've gotten a few semi decent pics. I'll have to save up and splurge on a dslr to have any hope of getting a good shot. I get funny looks when I show up and duct tape my old phone to my tripod, "What do you expect? I'm an old hillbilly we do our best with what we got". I get the feeling that the well heeled "interlopers" disdain for the natives borders on homicidal.

Rainbows are quite difficult to get right. You did pretty well on this one, Jay.
