The reality of how this forum works is that members can post and moderators can make adjustments. Spam gets deleted as well as anything else hostile to our covenant or disruptive of the fellowship. If it's relevant and friendly, it's likely to stay and we'll discuss it. How often have we cut you off in other places? Jump in, Sister.

I had originally intended for this subforum for church elders only to start threads, but it looks like I didn't get the permissions right.
But this brings up a good point. I'm thinking anyone could post some kind of teaching here, but it would have to be approved by an elder or moderator. My initial restriction to having just elders post here was to make sure any "official teaching" was official enough, but I also don't want to reject someone's preaching (or what have you) if it's something worthwhile while still overlapping the overall mission here. Any thoughts on this?

Keep in mind Jay that we will play favorites because that's how God does things. Not in an artificial sense of whims and caprice, but we will favor those who add to our wealth of understanding. I think this is something we need to state openly. It's not too hard to correct something that's a near miss, and people who project an affable persona can push the boundaries more. There is also the issue that those who have been involved a long time have already established a certain amount of trust. I think we can open the door just a little unless/until it becomes a problem.

I'm fine with this approach. I've opened the forum up so any registered member could post. I tried configuring the permissions so that any new thread would have to be approved, but I don't think it's working the way I thought. I'm okay with that; we can simply unapprove seriously unwanted ideas, and correct and clarify lesser offenses.
I don't want to swing the ban-hammer recklessly, but I also want our mission to stack on track.

I also moved this forum under the "official church stuff" rubric: the "About RF" header.

Just moved this thread to the "Miscellaneous" forum.
