Road Trip
#1
I thought I had already mentioned this, but can't find it here on the forum: I'll be traveling a bit this coming week. Tomorrow I leave on a bus for Harlingen, TX. I'll be there a few days with my Mom, then we will drive back in her car up here (me at the wheel). She'll be around here for a few days, then we reverse the process next Friday. I'll get back home late the next day.

I should be able to keep up my regular posting schedule, but you never know about Internet connections. I'm told the buses have wifi these days...

That is nice that you and your Mom will have some time together.  Not sure if there are things you want/need to do down there, but prayers always for all of you that each day will be a blessing and the Lord will keep you in His safe and loving arms.  I am sure Veloyce will be glad to see your Mom once you two come to OK.  Take care, Brother!

PS Keep us posted as you travel just so we can be sure to send up more prayers for safety.   Smile

I remember you mentioning this before, but I don't think you had these details. That should be fun, assuming the trip is for general visiting purposes and not because of medical issues, etc.

Just to let everyone know Ed's bus was late leaving here and got into Dallas and missed the next bus. So now he is in a long line waiting to a new ticket. Pray it does not take long.

Missed connections are an irritation. Praying, of course.

And who can say how long it "too long"? Anyway, it added about 6 hours to my final arrival. What really made me sad was that the Dallas Bus Station is just two blocks from Dealy Plaza and some monuments. By the time I got my updated itinerary, it was almost dark. I managed to get one shot of a remarkable structure still a block away before it got too dark.

So, I'm writing this from my mother's wifi. We are fine and will leave Monday morning.

Rest, my friend.  Your journey was a long one albeit a good one despite the interruptions to schedule.  Prayers will always be lifting.  Safe journey home......

The first half of this saga has been told. I'm back at home with my mother. It turned out her eyes had actually improved in terms of night vision, so I didn't need to drive, but I was needed to navigate and to keep her entertained while driving. There will now be some family visiting and we head back down Friday.

But riding was quite an experience. There were often increments of the journey when the bus was only half full, and I got to use both seats as I saw fit. A frequent traveler warned me riding back north on the bus is nothing like that; it's always packed with Latino travelers. I'll be traveling very light.
