Slander
#1
Thumbs Up
What is slander all entail? Like if 2 family members are discussing( or rehashing) the hateful verbal attack of another family member and how to resolve that matter, for example, is this slander? Since my number one exercise is running from sin and my desire is to be destroyer of sin, I have concerns with understanding this sin.

The dictionary definition of "slander" includes a publicity element. As long as it's private in nature, it's more like gossip. Both are a sin -- bearing false witness. The difference between slander and simply badmouthing someone is how far and wide it is published, and the scale of the reputational harm, not the nature of the sin. Both are an intent to weaken someone's testimony.
