About the American arrogance, a very recent and specific story, of a girl who wore a traditional Chinese dress to her prom. She got Twitter bombed by people declaring it "cultural appropriation," by mostly Americans. But Chinese nationals don't see it that way since it's considered flattery for a foreigner to do that.

Also interesting to note the Qipao dress was created using both Chinese and Western fashion aesthetics.
