Isaiah 40 is a great chapter. Interesting to note how ancients knew instinctively that the universe was unimaginably big, but that was nothing to God. I suppose, without scientific knowledge, you could reason yourself into thinking the vastness of the sky/heavens was just an illusion of some kind, but few ANE folks would think that's a worthwhile intellectual pursuit.
