That's what they are counting on. They don't allow comments from those who know. What they are suggesting is that every computer out there has some kind of snoopware built into the hardware that captures the message prior to encryption. What that in itself is possible, it's highly unlikely, since there are quite a few nerds testing hardware for this very thing. It's how the NSA was caught. The NSA had been intercepting shipments and inserting hardware after the manufacturer sent out the order. But they don't have the facilities to do that for more than a small handful of what is shipped every day.

Most encryption software performs the encryption on the hard drive before the data is passed to the networking chips. The only way to intercept is via snoopware prior to the encryption, not during the process of transmission.
