My current one I've only seen a few times since I started going to his practice the last 10 years. I usually see his assistants when I get physicals, etc.
My wife has worked for the clinic where he's a partner for 18 years and I'm in there often, usually with my daughter (boyboy drives now) to receive our Mom directives because she's well...Mom and I'm an irresponsible nitwit who "lets them do..whatever they want" Guilty as charged. I do insist on good manners, good grades and good behavior. Anyway, I veered out of my lane there. Ok reread Q. Good idey mr Iain. I have bad discs from the top of my neck down to the sacrawedgie with an osteoarthritis chaser, Hypertension, occasional freak outs & other stuff. I endure chronic pain with the aid of medication. I have  to see the good Doc every three months for ongoing evaluation of my various conditions so that the appropriate medications can be applied. We talk about stuff like faith and good deed doin' during my appointments. I see him out & about. He lives about 1/2 mile from my in-laws if I see him out weedeating,  I honk the horn and stop, he pulls his hearing protection off and I'll ask "Hey Dr D, what would you be doing if I hadn't of stopped you?" He shakes his head and goes back to work. Hillfolk will, if they like you, aggravate you at every opportunity. We're weird that way, as we are with long winding, twisting answers that take for-freaking-ever when a simple "I know him casually not, socially" would suffice. We're the macaques of humanity, mmm.. Yep macaques absolutely. I can even hear Sir David Attenborough's narration "Here in the high wooded hills of Appalachia, we find the hillbilly in his native environment on his porch drinking tea, jabbering on about those dadgum Liberals...oh wait a heated argument is breaking out over what's in the Bible ..."
