You would think more of the crowd following Jesus would be really familiar with the Daniel statue verses and would know the general gist of how God built judgment into creation, and wouldn't necessarily be looking so much to make Him a political ruler. Talmudism and the Pharisees had quite a hold on them, probably. Although, all of that easy for people like us to say...who knows what I'm currently getting wrong?
