Lulu isn't working out, so I am going with Amazon's printing services. Lulu forces you to set the price of the book with a minimum of revenue added onto the base price, which is ridiculous even if I wanted to make money off of it.
At Lulu, the "at cost" for the first book (683 pages) is $15.99. but I can't list it at that price. They force you to set the list price at double that, so the book would be $31.98 at a minimum. That's not going to work. With amazon, you can set the price so that it only covers the printing cost, plus 60%, which is amazon's mark up. I don't know the at cost of the book on amazon yet, but let's say it's $15.99 like Lulu. That would make the list price $25.58, much better than $31.98. But we'll see when I finish that setup.
