Well, when I let the paid version lapse, it may completely close the Outlook account altogether. But it may not. I won't know until the paid account runs out. Nobody has asked to Skype me and I'm not going to let the web interface stay open on my desktop, so having an account is not as useful that way. The problem on my desktop is that Skype hasn't been updated for Linux in a very long time, and the repository index doesn't update, either, so even if they do update the app, my system won't know about it.
Correction: I just found out that MS has no clue how the repository updating system works, and how the keys are supposed to be updated. I would have to do it manually. I'll have to see if I can make it work on my system.
Update: Yep, Skype is working for now, and it's set to page me audibly, and this system never sleeps. We'll see if I get to keep my account as a free one after the subscription expires.
