On my way to work on HAPPY MONDAY my car died.halfway to work. Fortunately, I managed to pull into Cheeks. Cheeks crossroads convenience store, unfortunately I had to push the vehicle out of the way, fortunately the vehicle in question is a Honda crv and the parking lot is flat. I called work and then Michelle. She came and took me home. About an hour later I roused our mechanic and he fetched the car with his rollback. Sunday I had winterized my bike, drain oils, add Stabil™ to the gas drained the fuel line and removed the fuel bowl from the carburetor and emptied it. Then I took the front wheel off in preparation to work on the forks, that's replace the seals and take the opportunity to install upgraded springs. I had to dewinterize the bike which took the rest of the day. I rode to work today (Tuesday) in 36° I was wrapped up good but, still froze. The next time you're out drive at 55 mph with the windows down and the heat off, if you sit on the roof for twenty miles well...... Randall, our mechanic called and said the battery had a bad cell. Guess what, it will be ready tomorrow. One more iceberg run.

The design of the front forks is such that I can't add oil without first removing them. I have bad fork seals and am losing oil which adversely affects their performance, this is dangerous. I'm in the danger zone every bump. Our fallback vehicle needs wheel bearings, it's been parked for a while. It must be fixed soon.
PLEASE, pray for my safety while riding.

I went about two miles and turned around and went home. It was so hard to control in the curves the front squirrelly. If the rear slides you can control it, if you can't control the front you wreck.

Oh, the memories your tale provokes, Iain. I've done fork seals and ridden way too many miles in cold weather. One time I came home and, once the boots were off, found my socks had ice in them. I started feeling my feet a while later...
