I'm referring to the ministry via bicycle touring. I've ordered the new camera and we should start seeing pictures from it in a couple of weeks. Every camera has its own unique mechanisms, so even after I have it in hand, I'll have to learn how it works.
I've also been praying a great deal about how physically difficult it was to travel on the folding bike. It's demanding enough that I'm still not fully recovered from the ride to Chandler and back. While I love the comical image of me riding that thing across the countryside, it's simply too demanding physically for what I get back. Yes, this means I'm going to have to get a different bike in order to do this kind of travel consistently. Not to get rid of the folding bike, but I need something more efficient to travel and pull the trailer, something more suited to long distances.
This time I've been praying that I'd receive wisdom about my choices. I don't want something to bust the budget, but it needs to be reliable for long rides. The type of bicycle shouldn't be too hard to figure out: a tough bike that rolls more easily with less effort. I'm not going off-road much. It will be either a hybrid style or a gravel bike -- the differences aren't that great. You'd have to be a cycling enthusiast to tell the difference. It will be something with narrower tires and lightweight frame. I'll put the weight on the trailer so I don't need to worry about how to lug my stuff around on the bike itself.
I'm not in a hurry. I'll need to save up for this so I am not forced to buy the cheapest junk. By the same token, I'm willing to take something decent and upgrade parts of it later. I'm trusting the Lord for a choice opportunity to arise somewhere down the road (pun intended).
