forrealone - I'd try your idea (we have lots of oils in the jaybreak house), but my jaw doesn't hurt any more. There's lots of moving pain involved with whatever I have (see more info below).

Ed - Offhand, my physical therapist suggested the same two things Smile She said she uses the nasal flushes and those always work for her, but warned that some folks don't take to it.

Anyways, I saw my doc on Friday. The assistant saw me first, and she couldn't determine what was really going on. The head doc then saw me, and ruled out a few things, but he said it was a mystery, too, but had some ideas. He gave me an order for tests (he specifically stated they are pretty thorough), which I had done Saturday morning. I see him the 30th for a followup for that.

I have a hunch it's Lyme disease. It explains all the symptoms I've been having for the past few months. It also explains a weird rash I got on my hip before all this nonsense started with my knee. It wasn't a typical "target" rash that is associated with that kind of tick bite, but those can vary.

I'll let everyone know what they find out. In the meantime, it's ibuprofen, caffeine, and trying to stay positive.
Just a little FYI, Jay.  My sister has suffered from chronic lyme disease for decades.  Should you have any questions, I am sure she would be glad to share her experiences with you......

Update: Lyme it is!

Blood tests came back, and I met with the doc yesterday to go over them. I'm on antibiotics...started them last night. So far they haven't jacked up my stomach. We'll see. But that's the tale of the tape., and explains all the weird stuff that's been happening to me the last few months.

Eh. Hope the regimen helps, Jay! Lyme's a very difficult disease to treat in some folks for many reasons. Will be praying for you.

I'm glad that they found out what's been ailing you and pray for a speedy recovery.

RE: Sudden Knee Pain - Ed Hurst - 10-01-2019

Yeah, that would explain a lot, Jay. And you live right up there in the thick of that nasty stuff. Nobody in my area ever gets it locally. We have other delights from nature, but not that. May the Lord grant you relief.

RE: Sudden Knee Pain - jaybreak - 10-12-2019

Update: the antibiotics seem to be working well, over a week later. Feeling mostly like myself again. I hardly ever have to take the ibuprofen to not feel the fatigue. I've only had two episodes of that in the past week or so. I have about 10 more days of antibiotics to go. We'll see what happens.

RE: Sudden Knee Pain - jaybreak - 10-29-2019

Possibly a final update:
My round of antibiotics have been done for a week, had the follow up with my PCP on Monday. My symptoms are pretty much all gone, and she said that's as good as it will get. There's no blood test needed since the antibodies will be in my system for my whole life. If I start getting symptoms again I'd have to obviously follow up with her, but for now things are back to normal for me. Thanks folks Smile

That is wonderful news, Jay!  Praise the Lord!
