RE: Prayers for Lyn - forrealone - 02-01-2023 I would not get away with using tofu because no one would eat it. I personally don't care for tofu. It does come from soy beans. Tofu is considered a meat substitute. I don't want or need "substitute anything" Lol Just because something is a plant doesn't mean I like it or would eat it. I know if I were a vegetarian, I wouldn't go near the Impossible meat substitute...things. It seems too processed for my tastes. RE: Prayers for Lyn - forrealone - 02-05-2023 Update on Lyn: I had not heard from either Lyn or his son Joe since Tuesday. I was concerned; albeit had Lyn passed I would have been saddened but acceptive of the Lord's will in his life and the knowledge that Lyn was done with all his suffering. However, late yesterday evening I received a text from Lyn: "Home at last". What a relief that was for me to hear. Later today after my grandkids (who have been with me since Friday) go home, I will see if Lyn might not be interested in some of that soup I made last week. I froze four quart sized ziplocks of it. The Lord is good. Period. RE: Prayers for Lyn - Ed Hurst - 02-05-2023 Amen to that, Sister. RE: Prayers for Lyn - forrealone - 02-07-2023 Hi. I just got home from taking Lyn and Joe some of that chicken soup I had frozen last week. Today was the first day he was able to have me come. Three days a week, he will spend five hours going for a dialysis treatment. He has Stage 5, or end-stage kidney failure. He will be getting on the kidney donor list, but needs several things to happen before he can. It's complicated; fortunately, I understand it in all kinds of ways. I highly recommended that he make an appointment with a dietician. And I took Do eat and Don't eat lists. He can't take in potassium - he has too much and phosphorus can be harmful but he needs sodium (not salt aka sodium chloride). Ok, TMI I am sure. I will be helping him with applying for Social Security disability if he needs my help. He is eligible. Anyone is when they have ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease). The AV fistula failed, so they will be trying it again tomorrow. Outpatient surgery in Raleigh. He looked better than I thought he would. He was on his laptop working on his latest circuit board design. Grateful he can still do that - he loves it and it keeps him healthily occupied. Keep those prayers coming, my friends. He truly needs them...... RE: Prayers for Lyn - jaybreak - 02-09-2023 (02-07-2023, 05:19 PM)forrealone Wrote: He looked better than I thought he would. Dad did a bit of a turn around when Mom died. I took after him a lot...he'd thrive on working alone (he was a professional carpenter for many years), read a lot, watched history documentaries. I was concerned he would in assisted living after Mom died, because of his eyesight going rapidly. His mind wouldn't be nearly as active as it used to be. But he found a bunch a friends at the home that he interacts with constantly, which is very unusual for him. Mom was always the outgoing one, not Dad, so now he keeps stimulated in other ways. Anyways, this isn't about Dad! Still praying for Lyn on my end RE: Prayers for Lyn - davew9804 - 02-12-2023 Will be continuing in prayer for Lyn and you, Linda as his good friend. |
