It stars Ewan McGregor, Kevin McKidd and Robert Carlisle who have all become successful in the US. It is quite specific to the Scottish drug culture, general lack of opportunities and the overall "shite-iness" of being Scottish. Being set in Edinburgh the accents are more accessible to non Scots as opposed to Glasgow. Glaswegian accents are impenetrable unless you've lived there. We lived about 30 miles south of Glasgow so I can understand it. If you have Netflix, you can hear that accent on Limmy's Show, subtitles recommended.

I'll have to check this out, as I do have Netflix. I have a passing interest in accents since I wrote my book, and I have to sort of deal with accents a little bit again with the new book I'm writing.

Trainspotting is supposed to be good (I've heard so from people's opinions I trust, not "real critics").
