Here's what I found on that Jay. First, the RNC in 2020 finished with "Ave Maria" (source). It's connected to the anti-abortion movement, which is championed by the Catholic Church. Thus, that meeting of the RNC was regarded as a highly Catholic-oriented event. Also, there is a rather solid explanation of what part the song plays in the film. It has to do with the Riddler growing up in an orphanage, and the orphanage boys' choir sang that song a lot. Thus, the Riddler is depicted as one of the boys singing it in one scene. The twisted plot is that Batman's father had promised a bunch of money to the orphanage, but died before he could move the funds, so the orphanage languished in poverty and Riddler's childhood was affected by that.
