Tomorrow - forrealone - 09-09-2021 Tomorrow morning (Friday), I will be picking up a dear friend and taking her for surgery at a hospital in Raleigh. The surgery is quite complicated and because of other conditions that she suffers from, it can be a dangerous one. I will stay with her through the night if necessary to help her feel comfortable and safe. I pray that Father will give the doctors and nurses and other medical staff compassion, His wisdom and skills to ensure a successful surgery and recovery from sedation. She has had problems before waking up from anesthesia so we will need all the prayers we can get please. Hopefully she will be able to be discharged on Saturday because typically this particular surgery does not require a stay longer than overnight. There will be some home healthcare involved and thankfully I do have experience with that and she only lives three houses away. Thank you, my precious family! RE: Tomorrow - Ed Hurst - 09-10-2021 This is some more of those signs and wonders we ask the Lord to grant. His people are His treasure. RE: Tomorrow - IainH - 09-10-2021 Absolutely. RE: Tomorrow - forrealone - 09-10-2021 Good news! Praise the Lord. So, we got a call an HOUR before we were planning on leaving this morning from the hospital. They had expected us at 7AM. All the paperwork said for us to be there at 8:45AM. Sooooo..... we flew like crazies, gathering up all of our stuff and headed out into rush hour traffic. BUT, there was not a single slowdown, traffic snarl or any such thing the whole way there. Father, you are SO good to us! Then after I dropped my friend off and while I parked, her biggest fear of getting an IV put in because she is a hard stick and usually gets stuck a gazillion times to hit a vein was conquered by someone who hit her vein the first try. Amen, He is SO good to us. The surgery went so well that even the surgeon was pleasantly surprised (my friend and anesthesia don't get along sometimes ending her up in the ICU with a ventilator). Can I hear an Amen? I am home now, safe and sound as she is actually in good hands and feeling way better than either of us thought she would. I will go back up in the morning and be with her until she is discharged. Lord, I am so very grateful to you! RE: Tomorrow - IainH - 09-11-2021 (09-10-2021, 07:51 PM)forrealone Wrote: Good news! RE: Tomorrow - Ed Hurst - 09-11-2021 Good news, indeed. The Lord is faithful. |
