She Got Spooked - Ed Hurst - 03-20-2021

My beloved has never acted like that before. We were trying to negotiate with a dealer for a used car. I had performed my due diligence on the probabilities (consumer reports, complaints, etc.) and I felt like the price was okay. She did a test drive; things were okay. When we began haggling over the arrangements for paying, something in the whole scene spooked Veloyce and she walked away. They tried hard to keep the deal alive, and offered a significant discount, but she didn't want any more of it.

I wasn't the one with a strong reaction either way, but when she tells me something stinks, I would have to trust her on it. So we walked away, despite their desperate efforts to keep us engaged. Keep in mind that I could have easily ignored her and bought the car; she wouldn't nag me about it or anything. Just because I didn't get any alarm bells doesn't mean hers were wrong.

So pray with us. I still need a motor vehicle for my own use. It will be a while before my knee gets any better, and I need to be able to get around more than what I can do on the bike.

Wow!  Yeah, if one smells stinkies, time for both to smell stinkies.  So glad for you both to be in such harmony.  You are blessed!  I will remember to include a car in my prayers or whatever Father has in mind for y'all.  ☺

I aint trying to take steal your thunder, but,
I remember that kind of harmony. I also remember disharmony. The best thing was, no matter the disharmony, we always wound up with the harmonious solution which, usually meant "Mama was right". I always knew, no matter what, that if I had a doubt, Michelle had the right answer...

Now, I have to make decisions alone and I don't really trust myself any further than I could throw me (or a 200lb sack of stuff). I'm trying to do right by Miss Judi, my mother in law and my daughter, my Marvelous Miss Megan (As a testimony  to her Mama, she has her shit together far beyond your average 18 year old)

My entire growing up was a continual violation of trust; from my narcissistic mother to my "hero" Dad who, would bail and go get into one of his hobbies when the shit got more fucked up than he could process.         Because, I knew I was dysfunctional, I was very sober and guarded with respect to keeping my (still not resolved) issues from affecting my kids as we were raising them. Michelle was invaluable in that process.
She was a damn good 'un, and  I tell you what, I would have flattened any man who dared say different but,,,, nobody could.
My woman put a lot of work into bringing good cheer to the patients she had to deal with on a daily basis, many of whom were downright ornery. That, and being Mama was her calling, her mission. I believe she did alright on that score. And,

most amazingly of all, she stood by me.

It leaves me, the loneliest man in world.

Good testimony, Bro. We need to hear stuff like that.

I can't recall having an experience like that...either me or Lori. It makes me curious, but not enough to actually want to endure it.
