Diabetes and wound care. - IainH - 01-02-2021 A few weeks ago, my wife tripped over the vacuum cleaner (my fault, I didn't put it away) and cut her shin. Wound care is difficult for people with diabetes so, I had to take her to the hospital to receive IV antibiotics. MRSA is familiar territory for us. Prayerfully, she will come home Monday. What does Samaritans Purse know that I don't? They are setting up a field hospital in the parking lot of a mostly unoccupied hospital in Lenoir, NC. Google has a facility in Lenoir mmm...? Boo got C1niner a couple of weeks ago, Michelle and Megan had no symptoms. I had a tickle in my throat, typical for when I first catch a cold. High doses of Zinc, Vitamin D & C did the trick. The only symptom my son had was a loss of taste. He got tested after a coworker tested +ve. It worked it's way through our home just like a normal cold. A year ago, if you had told me that, "THEY" were going to achieve total control over every human being on earth by means of the common cold, I would have laughed in your face! This is the greatest scam of all time, it's so simple that it's brilliant and, it's working. RE: Diabetes and wound care. - Ed Hurst - 01-02-2021 There have been low-keyed reports of empty hospitals claiming to be full, and other ERs full when they always have been for the past few decades. Glad you folks handled it so well. I pray the Michelle come to her senses and trust in the Lord so this stuff can slow down. There is enough trouble out there without this kind of thing. RE: Diabetes and wound care. - jaybreak - 01-06-2021 Iain - any updates on the wife's situation? I was telling Ed some time ago, a friend of mine across the state got COVID. All he did was sleep it off and he was fine the next day, aside from his ability to smell, which was gradually coming back. Granted, he's not old and in pretty good shape, and in a rural area with lots of good air, but it wasn't a disaster at all. His wife and kid didn't get it either. Interesting times. RE: Diabetes and wound care. - IainH - 01-14-2021 Michelle is home and doing what the doctor ordered. Today is wound center day. Today is wound center day. Oh yeah, every hospital has one close by. Generally, it will be one practice among several so, if you haven't had surgery or have the diabetic leprosy you would have no reason to be aware of their existence. RE: Diabetes and wound care. - IainH - 01-17-2021 Michelle's O2 count dropped to 61 which is bad. Paramedics took her to the ER. Since it's such a hassle to visit with someone in the ER thanks to STUPID19, I stayed home. I will call in the morning and find out. Going by her cough that she had, my guess is pneumonia.
