The CC - IainH - 06-26-2020 I finally got back to work at the country club. 57 days late, "thank you Governor Cooper where would you like to be shot first, no forget it you're not getting off that easy". I had to wear a mask. My back hurts, no surprises there. Shower time bye. RE: The CC - Ed Hurst - 06-26-2020 Glad you got your job back. At least now the pain has a good reason for being there; that's how I look at it. RE: The CC - IainH - 06-26-2020 (06-26-2020, 03:04 PM)Ed Hurst Wrote: Glad you got your job back. I have done numerous jobs where I only lasted a couple of days due to the physical strain "I need to unload that truck full of 50lb bags of fertilizer" those days are gone. I will go as far as I can but, if I can't hack it, Disability ewww...no shame there, I just don't like the idea, to me it's like giving up. RE: The CC - forrealone - 06-28-2020 No, there is no shame there. It is like you giving yourself what you need to be able to do what you can. Remember social security disability is simply getting your social security early. Your amount will be whatever you would draw at 65. After 24 months from date of disability onset, you then have medicare (health insurance). We all pay for this with all that money they have deducted from our paychecks all of our lives. It ain't welfare. I have helped many people wade through the challenge of applying for disability. So, I understand the process, all of it. When my husband went on disability, he was ashamed at first. Then, he was grateful. RE: The CC - jaybreak - 06-30-2020 (06-28-2020, 10:12 PM)forrealone Wrote: No, there is no shame there. With all of the regulations, we pay for and benefit from welfare in too many ways to keep track. Getting back any money you put in the system is one of the simplest ways to show you're really NOT getting welfare but just receiving back what was taken. We can leave the discussion of fiat currency in that other thread we have going |
