Serving a Sovereign God - Ed Hurst - 03-09-2020

I embrace the concept of God's sovereignty. You can be sure my mental image of that is different from what's common among church folks and theologians, but the idea itself soothes my frazzled soul.

There is no doubt that the current Corona virus is from the hand of God. I've often wondered over the years how the final swan song of the West would begin, and now I believe this is it. Not because the virus itself is so dangerous, but the panic is the breaking point. How people react is what will bring destruction, regardless how much the actual virus does to people. It also doesn't matter if this thing was cooked up in a lab somewhere; what it actually does is still under God's control. He is using this viral panic.

And right smack dab in the middle of this, God calls me to ride my bike all over Oklahoma and go camping. What a non-sequitur that poses in my mind. I'm still trying to pray that one out. But that I'm called to do this, there is not a shred of doubt in my mind. Somehow God will use this "hobby" as the vehicle for a ministry I don't yet understand. I know what I'm supposed to do, but I don't yet know what effect I should be looking for.

I don't have to know in order for this to shine His glory. But I have no doubt He will eventually make it clear -- to me, at least.

Well, not only is the journey in and of itself a wonderful adventure (in my opinion) for you, but the finding out of what He has in store for that is  even more wonderful.  The anticipation must be exciting!   I know I am excited for you.......       Smile

Still working on it. I'm sitting in my tent somewhere short of my planned destination. See blog post for more info.

I'd like to revisit this post in a few weeks to see how God has worked things out. Hmm...

Right now the issue is the likelihood of a general quarantine. If that happens, I won't be able to ride much.
