Retirement care - Ed Hurst - 08-03-2019 Another family related prayer request: My mother and step-father are living down near Harlingen, TX. She's getting too old and tired to provide the constant care he needs, as he is nearly blind and not all that mobile. They want to hire someone to help them with daily living. Neither is willing to try the standardized assisted living facilities, and they are worried about hiring people they can trust. While I do have some other relatives free enough to do it, they are free because they can't be trusted in the first place. For myself, I am utterly certain God wants us to remain in Midwest City, OK. For them to move might be disorienting to dear old Dad, so it's not an easy option. Pray the Lord show them a way to do this. I'm glad we have a space where we stand with you in prayer and not finger-wag about "what you should do," because you know you'd get plenty of that in churchian forums, especially with this situation. Family issues are delicate, but you'll get the wisdom you need, for sure. |
